(FreedomWire.org) – CBS Evening News blew one of the many scandals surrounding President Joe Biden wide open when they scored an interview with whistleblower Gary Shapley, who is a supervisory special agent for the IRS.

Shaperly held nothing back hinting at a deep plot with many players trying to protect the Biden family. He said, “There was multiple steps that were slow-walked at the direction of the Department of Justice.”

He added that these “Deviations from normal process each and every time, it seems to always benefit the subject. I took an oath of office, and when I saw the egregiousness of some of these things, it no longer became a choice for me. It’s not something that I want to do, it’s something that I feel like I have to do.”

NORAH O’DONNELL: We turn now to a CBS News exclusive. For more than three years, the Department of Justice has been investigating the President’s son, Hunter Biden, for possible tax crimes.

Last fall, FBI sources told us they had sufficient evidence to bring charges. CBS’s Jim Axelrod spoke to the IRS agent who is blowing the whistle on what he says was preferential treatment in his first public interview.

GARY SHAPLEY (IRS WHISTLEBLOWER): When I took control of this particular investigation, I immediately saw it was way outside the norm of what I’ve experienced in the past.

JIM AXELROD: Gary Shapley is a supervisory special agent for the IRS. Where he’s worked for 14 years. In January 2020, he was assigned to what he calls a high-profile investigation. Who’s the subject of the investigation?

SHAPLEY: I can’t confirm or deny the subject of this investigation.

AXELROD: Why not?

SHAPLEY: Because, you know, part of the tax secrecy laws don’t allow it.

AXELROD: Shapley can’t say it, but CBS News has learned the investigation was the probe of Hunter Biden by the Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney in Delaware. Senior Biden administration officials have vowed to let it run its course without interference.

ATTORNEY GENERAL MERRICK GARLAND: Not restricted in its investigation in any way.

AXELROD: But CBS News has obtained this letter Shapley’s lawyer sent to Congress Monday alleging irregularities in DOJ’s handling of the investigation. Shapley is seeking legal protections from Congress so he can share specifics of his allegations.

SHAPLEY: There was multiple steps that were slow walked at the direction of the Department of Justice.

AXELROD: Had you ever encountered that before?

SHAPLEY: I have not, no. These deviations from normal process, and each and every time, it seems to always benefit the subject.

AXELROD: Shapley says he decided to blow the whistle after a heated meeting last October with federal prosecutors.

SHAPLEY: That was my redline meeting. It just got to that point where that switch was turned on, and I just couldn’t silence my conscience anymore.

AXELROD: Did you let prosecutors know you were unhappy?

SHAPLEY: I don’t think I can answer that.

AXELROD: Hunter Biden has denied any wrongdoing.

The IRS agent told us he is a registered Republican. His whistle-blowing is being assisted by an advocacy group with past ties to the GOP, but Shapley says this is not about politics. Why do you want to navigate these waters?

SHAPLEY: I don’t want to do any of this. I took an oath of office, and when I saw the egregiousness of some of these things, it no longer became a choice for me, it’s not something that I want to do, it’s something that I feel like I have to do.

(FreedomWire.org) – Whistleblower FBI agents who came forward claiming that “politicized rot” was destroying the agency from within have now been suspended and had their security clearances pulled, a development that House Republicans sought to put on display Thursday morning.

Steve Friend, one of the whistleblower agents, detailed his experience in front of the House Judiciary Committee. He claimed the FBI “closed rank and attacked the messenger” while preventing him from seeking another form of employment to support his family.

Friend’s opening statement drew praise from conservatives.

A second agent, Marcus Allen, had his security clearance revoked after investigating open-source materials related to the January 6, 2021 riots, according to a report by the House committee.

“Because these open-source articles questioned the FBI’s handling of the violence at the Capitol, the FBI suspended Allen for ‘conspiratorial views in regard to the events of January 6th,’” the report states, adding that Allen was likewise not permitted to seek outside employment during his unpaid suspension.

Garret O’Boyle testified that the FBI ruined his family life because he stood up for what he believed was right.

“Bad guys have begun running parts of the government, making it difficult to continue to serve this nation and protect the innocent.”

In a letter to House Republicans, the agency defended its punishment of both whistleblowers, arguing that Friend refused to follow an order to conduct a search-and-arrest of a suspect, performed unauthorized downloads of classified materials, and conducted media interviews without prior approval from the Office of Public Affairs (OPA). Allen was suspended for allegedly hindering investigations while espousing alternative views regarding the FBI’s involvement in the J6 riots, the letter states.

In recent weeks, a coalition of veteran FBI agents have come forward to defend the actions of the whistleblowers and call for reform at the agency, saying in a public letter that politicization which began under former Director James Comey has continued to the present day and continues to benefit President Joe Biden.

(FreedomWire.org) – House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said he believes former President Barack Obama knew about Joe Biden’s alleged foreign influence peddling schemes.

Comer told Lou Dobbs: “I believe, Lou, that it’s because he knew what Joe Biden was doing the last year of his vice presidency. He knew his son Hunter Biden was no good, and he knew this was nothing but a political liability not just for our country, not just for the Democrat party, but for Obama’s legacy.

“Because a lot of this happened during the Obama administration. So, I think that’s why Obama didn’t want Joe Biden to run for president. I think they knew about this.

“And remember a lot of these coverups would have happened during the Obama administration with Obama appointees in these deep state bureaucracies.

“This would be a great question for Obama: Were you aware of what was going on with Joe Biden with respect to foreign policy and some of these ragtag countries around the world,” he said.

The FBI refused to comply with a subpoena issued by Comer for an informant file where a confidential source alleges that Biden accepted bribes from a foreign national to influence U.S. policy when he was VP.

Christopher Dunham, FBI acting assistant director for congressional affairs, told Comer:

“As is clear from the name itself, confidentiality is definitional to the FBI’s Confidential Human Source program.

“Confidential human sources often provide information to the FBI at great risk to themselves and their loved ones.

“The information they provide also can create significant risks to others who may be referenced in their reporting.

“Information from confidential human sources is unverified and, by definition, incomplete.

“The mere existence of such a document would establish little beyond the fact that a confidential human source provided information and the FBI recorded it.

Comer said:

“It’s clear from the FBI’s response that the unclassified record the Oversight Committee subpoenaed exists, but they are refusing to provide it to the Committee.

“We’ve asked the FBI to not only provide this record but to also inform us what it did to investigate these allegations.

“The FBI has failed to do both. The FBI’s position is ‘trust, but you aren’t allowed to verify.’ That is unacceptable. We plan to follow up with the FBI and expect compliance with the subpoena.”

The GOP-led probe is demanding to know why the federal government refuses to investigate the high-level corruption the Biden family has committed. Comer said that all evidence points to the fact that Biden lied and that he and nine other family members did receive money from China.

He alleged that no other president has been involved in such crimes and that China and Romania—two countries where Biden helped lead U.S. policy during the Obama-Biden Administration— are just some countries Biden has illegally been making money from.

(FreedomWire.org) – Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said during a hearing on Thursday that a large number of FBI agents and staff have contacted him and others on the panel about mounting problems within the agency regarding politicization.

Jordan said “dozens” of agents have come forward to blow the whistle on upper management’s alleged efforts to redirect the agency’s focus, according to testimony before the Judiciary Committee’s Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government on Thursday, the Daily Caller reported.

“The two former agents, Thomas Baker and Nicole Parker, spoke on their experiences while working at the FBI. Parker said that she is enduring the stress of ‘putting a target’ on her back and testifying to speak on behalf of ‘numerous current and former bureau employees who feel similarly that they do not have a voice,’” the outlet’s report noted, quoting the former agent.

Jordan opened the hearing with an overview of FBI whistleblowers, which he said amounts to “dozens and dozens” of individuals.

“In my time in Congress, I have never seen anything like this,” Jordan noted during the hearing. “It’s not Jim Jordan saying this, not Republicans, not conservatives, good FBI agents who are willing to come forward and give us the truth.”

The Daily Caller noted further:

Jordan sampled a handful of these tips, spanning back to Nov. 18, 2021, when an FBI whistleblower alerted House Judiciary Republicans that the FBI had created a threat tag for parents expressing concern at school board meetings, and ranging to Nov. 4, 2022, when a whistleblower revealed the FBI accepts private user information from Facebook without user consent, according to a House Judiciary report.

Johnson said at the hearing that he expects many of the whistleblowers will sit for transcribed interviews or testify during future open hearings.

Baker, an agent of 33 years, said that the American public losing faith in the FBI “breaks my heart,” adding that the culture shift within the bureau was “deliberate” and put in place by former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

“The FBI director set out deliberately to change the culture of the FBI from a law enforcement agency to an intelligence-driven agency,” he said.

“The FBI, by urging Twitter to censor speech, which it could not itself do, was engaging in a perversion – a perversion of the First Amendment,” Baker later continued. “For most of FBI history, agents were trained as part of the FBI’s mission was to be a guarantor of the Bill of Rights. That has been turned on its head.”

Parker, meanwhile, added regarding her 12 years with the bureau: “Every day, I woke up and I embraced being an FBI special agent until things changed,” noting further that throughout her dozen years with the agency, it “transformed” and its principles “shifted dramatically.”

“The FBI became politically weaponized starting from the top in Washington and trickling down to the field offices,” Parker said.

“It’s as if there became two FBIs,” she added. “Americans see this, and it is destroying the bureau’s credibility, and therefore the hardworking and highly ethical agents who still do the heavy lifting and pursue noble cases.”

Last month, the FBI denied accusations from Republicans that it has purged conservative employees from its ranks under President Joe Biden’s administration.

Jordan sent several letters to the FBI alleging the agency removed critics of Biden and his administration from their posts. Jill Tyson, the FBI’s assistant director of its Office of Congressional Affairs, responded to Jordan’s accusations with a letter of her own.

“The FBI has strong procedures in place to promote accountability when an FBI employee strays from their obligations — including employee actions that create the appearance of political, social, or other bias. The FBI takes all allegations of misconduct very seriously, and that includes taking seriously our responsibility to FBI employees who make protected disclosures under the whistleblower regulations,” she wrote.

“It is important to emphasize that allegations against one or a very small number of employees do not reflect a widespread political bias or a lack of objectivity by the FBI’s 38,000 employees who perform their jobs objectively, rigorously, and with professionalism,” she wrote. “Nor do such allegations fairly call into question the FBI’s motivations and actions to fulfill its mission, which reflects the collective judgment and effort of our workforce.”

(FreedomWire.org) – A top FBI agent based in Washington, D.C., reportedly resigned from his position last week after being accused of attempting to thwart a criminal investigation into Hunter Biden.

Timothy Thibault, an FBI assistant special agent in charge, was escorted out of the Washington field office by at least two “headquarters-looking types” last Friday, sources told the Washington Times on Monday.

Thibault had already been on leave since FBI director Christopher Wray revealed during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing earlier this month that he found the whistleblower claims against the agent and his colleague, FBI supervisory intelligence analyst Brian Auten, “deeply troubling.”

Republican senator Chuck Grassley wrote to Wray in July that he believed the pair had orchestrated a “scheme” to “undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.” The senator also alleged that Thibault had tried to shut down criminal probe pathways into the president’s son until at least one month before the November 2020 election.

“Thibault allegedly ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason as required by FBI guidelines … [and] subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future,” Grassley said.

“In October 2020, an avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed at the direction of ASAC Thibault… [when] all of the reporting was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants,” the senator added.

Some Republicans have insisted that Thibault may have been motivated by malicious political bias, pointing to his social-media history, including a retweet of a Lincoln Project message that called former president Trump a “psychologically broken, embittered and deeply unhappy man.”

In November 2020, the New York Post broke the Hunter Biden laptop story, unveiling emails related to his foreign business dealings, which included introducing his father, who was then serving as vice president, to his Chinese associates. The computer also contained footage of Hunter Biden doing drugs and having sex with prostitutes.

Last week, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted on Joe Rogan’s podcast that Facebook suppressed stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election after the FBI told the company they should look out for Russian “misinformation.”

The “distribution” of the bombshell report was limited on the social media platform for “five or seven” days when the laptop was still being authenticated, leading to a situation in which “fewer people saw it than would have otherwise,” he said. Zuckerberg said the FBI didn’t specifically ask Facebook to flag the Biden laptop story but suppressed it anyway after deciding it qualified as potential Russian propaganda.
