(FreedomWire.org) – Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California will run for president in 2024 should President Joe Biden not seek re-election, according to a report by The Wrap on Monday.

One source close to Newsom, a Democratic fundraiser in California told The Wrap about Newsom’s plans, which were confirmed by another source. Newsom  “absolutely is going to announce that he is running for the presidency once Biden announces that he is not running,” said the fundraiser, according to The Wrap.

Newsom, who has repeatedly sought to elevate himself on the national political stage by attacking DeSantis, wrote a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland last week in which he made the dubious claim that DeSantis — who is a lawyer — potentially engaged in “kidnapping” by having the illegal immigrants transported out of Florida.

Newsom claimed without evidence that the migrants were sent with “the intent” to “humiliate[d] and dehumanize[d].” In fact, MSNBC reported Friday afternoon said that the illegal immigrants were “not angry with Ron DeSantis” and that they are “actually thanking him for having brought them to Martha’s Vineyard.”

On Friday, DeSantis responded to the allegations by insinuating that Newsom uses an inordinate amount of hair gel that is “interfering with his brain function.”

Newsom countered with a debate challenge by retweeting a post from disgraced CBS News anchor Dan Rather.

“Hey @GovRonDeSantis, clearly you’re struggling, distracted, and busy playing politics with people’s lives,” Newsom wrote. “Since you have only one overriding need — attention — let’s take this up & debate. I’ll bring my hair gel. You bring your hairspray. Name the time before Election Day.”

Newsom has also launched television ads, including one in Florida castigating DeSantis and former President Donald Trump, which stated “Freedom, it’s under attack in your state … Republican leaders, they’re banning books, making it harder to vote … even criminalizing women and doctors.”

Although Newsom has suggested in his messaging to voters in red states that their freedoms are under attack, California ranks #48 overall in the Cato Institute’s “Freedom in the 50 States” index of personal and economic freedom.

William Ruger, vice president for research and policy at the Charles Koch Institute, and Jason Sorens, director of the Center for Ethics in Society at Saint Anselm College, authored the libertarian think tank’s report, which stated “California is one of the least free states in the country, largely because of its long-standing poor performance on economic freedom.”

The report indicated that under Newsom, “California is one of the highest-taxed states in the country … one of the worst states on land-use freedom,” and home to the weakest gun rights in the country, it’s freedoms have “weakened consistently over time.”

So far, President Joe Biden has not announced his 2024 plans, though he has mentioned previously that he wishes to run, again. Biden, 79, would turn 82 years old shortly after election day in 2024.

In a recent interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes,” Biden said that he will decide his plans for 2024 after November’s midterm elections. Biden admits it’s not certain that he’ll run.

(FreedomWire.org) – U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) gave a self-serving interview to GQ Magazine declaring that “so many people in this country hate women” while discussing whether she could “lead the country.”

The interview with GQ’s Wesley Lowery smacks of prepping the field for the young socialist to, at some point, take a run at the presidency.

“Sometimes little girls will say, ‘Oh, I want you to be president,’ or things like that,” Ocasio-Cortez, 32, said. “It’s very difficult for me to talk about because it provokes a lot of inner conflict in that I never want to tell a little girl what she can’t do. And I don’t want to tell young people what is not possible. I’ve never been in the business of doing that. But at the same time…”

“One is just the relentless belief that anything is possible,” she tearfully said during the interview. “But at the same time, my experience here has given me a front-row seat to how deeply and unconsciously, as well as consciously, so many people in this country hate women. And they hate women of color. People ask me questions about the future. And realistically, I can’t even tell you if I’m going to be alive in September. And that weighs very heavily on me.”

“And it’s not just the right wing. Misogyny transcends political ideology: left, right, center. This grip of patriarchy affects all of us, not just women; men, as I mentioned before, but also, ideologically, there’s an extraordinary lack of self-awareness in so many places. And so those are two very conflicting things. I admit to sometimes believing that I live in a country that would never let that happen,” she asserted.

Lowery claims that a top adviser to a progressive official told him that Ocasio-Cortez was “destined to inherit the leadership of the movement.”

“All of the progressive political operatives that I spoke with said they were heartened by the number of leaders their movement has produced in recent years. Yet they all agree, when granted the ability to speak freely, that there is something special about the congresswoman,” he contended.

Ocasio-Cortez took a poke at Wall Street and her seeming opposition to all things involved with capitalism, stating that it could be an obstacle for her as she rises in leftist political circles.

Lowery noted that if the congresswoman ever became president, she would be confronted by a “system” that is “inclined to thwart her most sweeping ambitions.”

“There are still plenty of limitations,” Ocasio-Cortez told GQ. “It’s tough, it’s really tough.”

Then she carped about Congress and how it “moves last,” blaming the body for not codifying Roe vs. Wade.

“Because it’s easier to just let the courts do it,” she remarked. “We’re going to need robust mass movements that have already started. We’ve seen it in the labor movement, we’ve seen it in racial justice, and we’re going to need to continue to build that while also ensuring that we are staving off the very real threat of fascism in losing the House or Senate.”

AOC is terrified Trump supporters could kill her this month, worries about marrying a white man, and feels mistreated by fellow Democrats.

The aspect of Ocasio-Cortez wondering if she would even be alive this month was mocked on twitter.

(FreedomWire.org) – Democrat Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), who is in a heated primary battle with longtime House colleague Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), said “off the record” that President Joe Biden is “not running again” in 2024.

Maloney, during an “on the record” interview with the New York Times, stated that “off the record,” he would “not” be running for a second term.

However, this is before the interviewer corrected the congresswoman to let her know she was still “on the record.” Maloney then stated that “he should not run again.”

The interview was published after Maloney had a mixup during a debate a couple of weeks ago when she was asked about Biden running for reelection.

Maloney made her remarks on Tuesday night as questions swirl regarding whether any Democrats might throw their hat in the ring against Biden in the 2024 president election.

For Maloney, she shrugged aside the question by responding, “I don’t believe he’s running for reelection.”

Maloney is currently running against fellow Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler, who dodged the same question, saying it is “too early to say” when asked at the debate if Biden should vie for the nomination.

Despite being longtime friends and allies who began their congressional careers in the early 1990s, Maloney and Nadler are now pitted against one another in the primary race for New York’s 12th District, due to census redistricting.

After stating that she doesn’t think Biden will run again in the Tuesday night primary debate for New York’s 12th Congressional District, Maloney went to CNN on Thursday to explain her comments. “Well first of all I think we all owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to President Biden,” she said. “He saved the country for running against former President Trump and he defeated him.”

Maloney went on to describe Biden’s term as “incredible” and “outstanding.” She continued, “I think he’s done an incredible job and is giving us a record to run on in the 2022 election, let’s get to the 2022 election before we get to ’24.”

After being pressed on why she said she didn’t believe Biden would seek another term, Maloney spoke directly to the president.

“Mr. President, I apologize. I want you to run,” she said. “I happen to think you won’t be running, but when you run or if you run, I will be there 100%.”

“You have deserved it,” she added. “You are a great president and thank you for everything you’ve done for my state and all the states and all the cities in America.”

As for why Maloney said it, she said it’s simply her “own personal belief,” but that she will support him regardless. “It’s totally his decision,” Maloney said in the broadcast.

(FreedomWire.org) – President Joe Biden lashed out in response against a poll saying that a large majority of Democrats don’t want him to run for re-election in 2024 and would rather have a different presidential nominee.

Biden made the comments in response to a question by a reporter Tuesday after the White House Congressional Picnic.

“Mr. President, what’s your message to Democrats who don’t want you to run again?” asked the reporter.

“They want me to run,” he claimed and confronted the reporter.

“Read the polls. Read the polls, Jack!” he added. “You guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats if I ran would vote for me.”

Biden was referring to a poll from the New York Times/Siena College that found 92% of Democrats would vote for him if he ran against former President Donald Trump and if the election were today.

In a hypothetical matchup between Biden and Trump, the poll found that Biden would win by three percentage points, 44% to 41%.

Unfortunately for Biden, the same poll had other results that were far less favorable to him.

The poll found that 64% of Democrat primary voters said they preferred a candidate other than Biden run in 2024, while only 26% said he should be the nominee in a re-election campaign.

Top of mind for those voters opposed to Biden was his age at 79 years old.

On Monday, the progressive activist group RootsAction said it would actively campaign against the nomination of Biden based on his lack of performance in the Oval Office.

“Unfortunately, President Biden has been neither bold nor inspiring. And his prospects for winning re-election appear to be bleak. With so much at stake, making him the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer in 2024 would be a tragic mistake,” RootsAction said in a scathing statement.

(FreedomWire.org) – On a podcast Monday, Elon gave his opinion on who he believes is the “real president.”

“The real president is whoever controls the teleprompter,” he said. “The path to power is the path to the teleprompter.”

“I do feel like if somebody were to accidentally lean on the teleprompter, it’s going to be like Anchorman,” he said, which is a reference to the 2004 film in which Ron Burgundy, played by actor Will Ferrell, reads anything that is written on the teleprompter.

Musk said that in the past he has voted “overwhelmingly for Democrats,” but with recent comments, he does not seem to be a fan of the current administration.

“This administration doesn’t seem to get a lot done,” he said. “The Trump administration, leaving Trump aside, there were a lot of people in the administration who were effective at getting things done.”

He said he believes that the Democratic Party is “overly controlled by the unions and by the trial lawyers, particularly the class action lawyers.” He said that when Democrats go against “the interests of the people,” it is because of unions and trial lawyers, and when Republicans do it, “it’s because of corporate evil and religious zealotry.”

“In the case of Biden, he is simply too much captured by the unions, which was not the case with Obama,” he said.

He also talked about comments made by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos who said that when President Biden talked about corporations paying their “fair share” in taxes to combat inflation it was a “misdirection”

“I mean, the obvious reason for inflation is that the government printed a zillion amount of more money than it had, obviously,” he said, which is the same argument Republicans have made.

“So it’s like the government can’t just, you know, issue checks far in excess of revenue without there being inflation, you know, velocity of money held constant,” he said. “If the federal government writes checks, they never bounce. So that is effectively creation of more dollars. And if there are more dollars created, then the increase in the goods and services across the economy, then you have inflation, again, velocity of money held constant.”

“If the government could just issue massive amounts of money and deficits didn’t matter, then, well, why don’t we just make the deficit 100 times bigger? The answer is, you can’t because it will basically turn the dollar into something that is worthless,” he argued.

“Various countries have tried this experiment multiple times,” he said. “Have you seen Venezuela? Like the poor, poor people of Venezuela are, you know, have been just run roughshod by their government.”

(FreedomWire.org) – The Washington Post published an article on Monday which argues that George Washington University must be renamed in order to address systemic racism and inequality.

By those standards, The Washington Post should follow suit and rename their own publication if they are truly serious about racial justice in America, as they claim to be.

The opinion piece titled, George Washington University needs a new name, argued that in order to address the university’s systemic racism, institutional inequality, and white supremacy, the school must be renamed, increase black enrollment, select a black president, and adopt decolonized university curriculum.

The author argued that racism runs rampant at George Washington University and has been since its founding in 1821. As the nation found itself in a racial reckoning in 2020 following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody, social justice warriors demanded change.

Students renamed George Washington University’s Cloyd Heck Marvin Center, which was named after a segregationist, to the University Student Center in 2021. However, the author, Caleb Francois, a senior at George Washington University, said it hardly made a dent in addressing systemic racism and inequality. If the University really wanted to make meaningful change, they would get rid of their name honoring the nation’s first and most historical President.

The author states that America’s “history of slavery, Jim Crow, red lining and other discriminatory policies toward African Americans has never been fully addressed or atoned for…in which compromise and intolerance are no longer an option.”

It’s unclear if The Washington Post will take the advice of the author but it’s evident the Bezos-owned publication has a hard time passing up a good virtue signaling opportunity, even if it comes at the expense of their own outlet.
