(FreedomWire.org) – Daniel Dale is a senior reporter for CNN who fact-checks presidents. He was not kind to President Joe Biden’s midterm message.

Daniel Dale said:

“Gas prices weren’t over $5 when Biden took office. The Social Security hike isn’t a Biden achievement. The Trump tax cut didn’t “only” go to the top 1%. Biden didn’t cut the debt in half. Biden didn’t get Congress to pass a law to forgive student debt.”

“The unemployment rate. Biden said at the Florida rally on Tuesday: “Unemployment is down from 6.5 to 3.5%, the lowest in 50 years.” He said at the New Mexico rally on Thursday: “Unemployment rate is 3.5% – the lowest it’s been in 50 years.”

“But Biden didn’t acknowledge that September’s 3.5% unemployment rate was actually a tie for the lowest in 50 years – a tie, specifically, with three months of Trump’s administration, in late 2019 and early 2020.

“Since Biden uses these campaign speeches to favorably compare his own record to Trump’s record, that omission is significant.

“The unemployment rate rose to 3.7% in October; that number was revealed on Friday, after these Biden comments. The rate was 6.4% in January 2021, the month Biden took office.

“Biden’s student debt policy

“During an on-camera discussion conducted by progressive organization NowThis News and published online in late October, Biden told young activists that they “probably are aware, I just signed a law” on student debt forgiveness that is being challenged by Republicans.

“He added: “It’s passed. I got it passed by a vote or two, and it’s in effect.”

“Biden’s claims are false.

“He created his student debt forgiveness initiative through executive action, not through legislation, so he didn’t sign a law and didn’t get it passed by any margin.

“Since Republicans opposed to the initiative, including those challenging the initiative in court, have called it unlawful precisely because it wasn’t passed by Congress, the distinction between a law and an executive action is a highly pertinent fact here.

“A White House official told CNN that Biden was referring to the Inflation Reduction Act, the law narrowly passed by the Senate in August; the official said the Inflation Reduction Act created “room for other crucial programs” by bringing down the deficit. But Biden certainly did not make it clear that he was talking about anything other than the student debt initiative.

“Gas prices

“Biden correctly noted on various occasions in October that gas prices have declined substantially since their June 2022 peak – though, as always, it’s important to note that presidents have a limited impact on gas prices.

“But in an economic speech in New York last week, Biden said, “Today, the most common price of gas in America is $3.39 – down from over $5 when I took office.”

“Biden’s claim that the most common gas price when he took office was more than $5 is not even close to accurate.

“The most common price for a gallon of regular gas on the day he was inaugurated, January 20, 2021, was $2.39, according to data provided to CNN by Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

“In other words, Biden made it sound like gas prices had fallen significantly during his presidency when they had actually increased significantly.

“In other recent remarks, Biden has discussed the state of gas prices in relation to the summer peak of more than $5 per gallon, not in relation to when he took office.

“Regardless, the comment last week was the second this fall in which Biden inaccurately described the price of gas – both times in a way that made it sound more impressive.”

(FreedomWire.org) – The White House tweeted this week that “President Biden’s leadership” resulted in the largest increase in Social Security payments seen in 10 years – a claim that drew a flag on Twitter because the increase was actually caused by a 40-year high in inflation.

“Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership,” the White House tweeted Tuesday.

The tweet was accompanied by a note from Twitter that states “readers added context” that “Seniors will receive a large Social Security benefit due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate.”

Twitter cast that note as something from readers “thought people might want to know,” and said these “context” notes appear “when rated helpful by others.”

New Twitter owner Elon Musk on Tuesday acknowledged the addition of the reader note by saying, “The community notes feature is awesome. Our goal is to make Twitter the most accurate source of information on Earth, without regard to political affiliation.”

The White House tweet was also accompanied by several replies that asked whether the White House was trying to give Biden leadership credit for high inflation.

It is not the first time the White House has tried to bury the high inflation story and act as if the Biden administration on its own decide to boost Social Security payments. Last month, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain bragged that Social Security payments would rise by 8.7%.

“For the first time in a decade, SS benefits will go up while Medicare premiums are going DOWN,” Klain tweeted.

American Commitment President Phil Kerpen pointed out how deceptive Klain’s Medicare spin was.

That led to a backlash of criticism that the White House was ignoring the broader cost of record-high inflation on Americans’ standard of living, and instead celebrating an increase in benefits that will take place next year. Others said there are already complaints that the Social Security hike would not be enough to cover rising inflation.

Social Security benefits will rise by 8.7% next year, which is the largest cost-of-living adjustment since 1981. The Social Security Administration calculates COLA based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index from the third quarter of 2021 to third quarter 2022.

The Federal Reserve continues to raise interest rates in an effort to tamp down inflation, and is expected to boost rates again by 0.75% Wednesday afternoon.

The White House has now deleted a tweet that took credit for the cost of living adjustment to Social Security payments and a reporter asked press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre why.

(FreedomWire.org) – Joe Biden on Thursday traveled to Syracuse, New York to deliver remarks on Micron’s plan to invest in CHIPS manufacturing.

Biden falsely claimed gas was over $5 per gallon when he took office in January 2021.

“The most common price of gas in America is $3.39, down from over $5 when I took office,” Biden said.

Biden also falsely claimed “the price of inflation is down, real incomes are up, and the price of gas is down.”

It is unclear exactly what numbers Biden was referring to. Inflation is still up 8.2 percent from last year and real wages have fallen 17 months in a row.

When Biden was asked, “Given record inflation, why should voters choose Democrats?”

Biden’s response was, “Because it’s not record inflation anymore. I’m bringing it down. Look at what we inherited.”

Biden seems to be unaware that inflation was actually 1.4% when he took office and now we are at 8.2%.

Voters in Pennsylvania know that Biden is lying about inflation and gas prices. They know exactly who is to blame for our current situation.

Biden keeps insisting he was making things better for Americans, but he isn’t fooling anyone.

(FreedomWire.org) – A fiery segment on Monday’s episode of The View featured Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

Cruz explained how he was doing a bus tour across America and people were hurting because of the record inflation under Joe Biden, that his Administration was a “trainwreck.”

As he was talking about inflation, protesters began shouting from the audience. They were cursing so when you hear blanks here on the video, that’s them being bleeped out.

Cruz who was fully focused on getting out the message about inflation and how bad Biden has been. The hecklers were there to push climate change.

Whoopi Goldberg shut them down and booted them out.

Cruz didn’t just take on Biden, but he reminded people how much better it had been under President Donald Trump and a sane Republican approach to the economy.

Cruz also took down Biden over a topic that resonates with parents — the DOJ going after parents and treating them like “domestic terrorists.”

Then Cruz and hosts butted heads over the Democrats’ hypocrisy when discussing claims of election fraud.

When speaking with host Whoopi Goldberg, Cruz highlighted several instances where Democrats claimed that elections were illegitimate, citing moments dating back to George W. Bush’s election victory over Al Gore in 2000.

“So it’s illegitimate when Republicans win but not Democrats?” Cruz declares. That’s exactly what they are saying, with their response. They can’t refute what Cruz is saying when he starts reading off a list of all the election denying from the Democrats.

“Have you ever heard Democrats say ‘this president, we don’t like him but we’re not going to do our job. They did their job,'” Goldberg said before ending the segment.

(FreedomWire.org) – Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) slammed President Joe Biden’s policies, saying they have “screwed up” the United States.

Appearing on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime Wednesday, Kennedy blasted Biden’s infrastructure bill as being “emblematic of a larger problem.”

The $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which was touted by the Biden administration as a major bipartisan achievement that will create jobs and provide much-needed funding for roads, bridges, water projects, and broadband access, passed Congress in August 2021.

“The American people have learned over the past 20 months that if you want something screwed up, President Biden is your man,” Kennedy said. “It has been 20 months of misery and vexation and Homer Simpson goes to Washington. I mean, pick your issue. The infrastructure bill, COVID, crime, the border, Congress, the economy, inflation, gas prices, Afghanistan, baby formula, for God’s sakes.”

“That’s why, based on the polling, you can see it,” Kennedy continued. “A majority of Americans believe that if you put the Biden Administration in charge of the Sahara Desert, it would quickly run out of sand.”

Kennedy, who is running for reelection in the Senate and is heavily favored to win, also said the “wokers” with whom Biden surrounds himself have turned him into a laughable caricature.

“The journalism professors with their comment-worthy man purses, experts like James Taylor and Vice President Harris — these people have way more zeal than wisdom,” Kennedy said. “They have turned our president into a caricature of this nice elderly gentleman — maybe on a day pass from a nursing home — happily eating ice cream and wandering around the country saying, ‘Well, the economy is slowing and prices are rising, and your 401Ks are crashing because the economy is so good and my policies are so good.’ And nobody is believing it. Because it’s not true.”

A new battleground election tracker released earlier this week showed many voters are not satisfied with the direction of the country and blame Biden. More than 70% of voters said the Biden administration’s policies are responsible for the current state of the economy, with 45% saying it is to blame “a great deal.”

(FreedomWire.org) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that she dismissed a poll saying Americans’ top concerns going into the November midterm that Americans are most concerned about inflation and crime.

Mitchell said, “Let’s talk about rising inflation concerns along with crime, giving momentum, new momentum to Republicans after the Democrats were closing the gap, the historic gap. After the Supreme Court ruling, there was huge outrage. That has seemed to subside, at least among overriding concerns. Despite all the legislative accomplishments, and I want to cite them, I want to say it’s been an extraordinary session. You and the president have done so much in terms of domestic concerns, the economy. So why do you think the president hasn’t gotten it through to the voters?”

Pelosi said, “Well, first of all, let me say that I think that much of what you’ve said I don’t agree with, that is to say, the New York Times poll, I think is an outlier poll, you cite one poll, but all the other polls —”

Mitchell said, “It’s also the RealClearPolitics average is showing similar issues.”

Pelosi said, “No, but that was one that brought down the average, and it was an outlier. It wasn’t even that big a sample. So I dismiss that. I have been since Congress adjourned, I’ve been in an average of five states a week. And I can tell you that women’s concerns about their freedom are very, very much still very significant in terms of how they will vote.”

Pelosi went on to claim that inflation was a global issue but then admitted that part of the problem originated with the policies of President Joe Biden.

Then Pelosi went on to suggest that Democrats should say whatever they need to say in order to win in the Midterms. “I say just win baby, just win, if that is what you need to say to win, fine.”

Probably the most out of touch thing she claimed was that President Biden has done a “spectacular job.”

(FreedomWire.org) – Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday if anybody approves of the administration’s handling of inflation.

Doocy asked the press secretary why inflation is continuing to skyrocket despite President Joe Biden continuously promising to tackle the issue. Jean-Pierre expressed the administration’s understanding of the American people’s frustrations and warned that Republicans are going to make inflation worse by repealing the Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS Act.

“The president understands, and we’ve talked about this many times, that inflation is an issue. High costs, costs, is an issue for the American people and so he’s been very clear about making that his number one economic priority,” Jean-Pierre said. “And he has done the work, and he’s done the work with congressional Democrats when you think about the Inflation Reduction Act which is going to lower the cost for our seniors, millions and millions of seniors across the country. When you think about that $2,000 cap on their own Medicare prescription, when you think about the thousands of dollars that our seniors pay a month, now that’s going to be $2,000 a year.”

“That is the work that congressional Democrats and the president has done. Republicans did not vote for that at all and what Republicans want to do is that they want to repeal that very historic piece of legislation that is also going to lower energy costs, that is also going to help fight climate change. They want to get rid of it. So there is a contrast that we are going to make which is how Republicans are actually going to make things worse and Democrats want to do the opposite and make things a little easier,” she continued.

“But, who exactly think the president is doing a good job on inflation because we’ve got a new poll that finds he receives his lowest job ratings on inflation at -38 points,” Doocy said.

The press secretary reiterated that the president is working to lower the costs of gas, Medicare and healthcare. She then accused Republicans of refusing to work alongside the president to ease the burden of high costs on Americans.

“Republicans in Congress refuse, they refuse to be partners with us on this,” she answered. “They refuse to help us. You think about the American Rescue Plan that has helped create an economy that is indeed resilient, that created jobs, they refuse to help.”

The Fox News reporter pointed out a general consensus held by most economists that the American Rescue Plan “has contributed” to inflation. She referred Doocy to Treasury Department Janet Yellen’s scheduled statement on these reports, then argued that the pieces of legislation passed by the Biden administration are “popular with the American people.”

(FreedomWire.org) – Joe Biden is facing the wrath of conservatives online after he was caught on camera telling a reporter in Portland that the ‘economy is strong as hell’ – while licking away at a Baskin Robbins ice cream cone.

The president appeared unbothered by the country’s 8.2 percent inflation rate and warnings of a looming recession as he was asked about the US’ financial situation in an Oregon ice cream parlor Saturday.

Questioned if he had any worry about the strength of the US dollar amid rising inflation, the president, with a chocolate chip cone in-hand, flippantly replied: ‘I’m not concerned about the strength of the dollar. I’m concerned about the rest of the world. Our economy is strong as hell.’

The altercations, along with a litany of other gaffes in recent months, have opened Biden up to political attacks about his age, as well as accusations the president has failed to address current economic unrest, which has seen inflation rates swell and Americans’ cost-of-living seeing an even worse surge.

The president stated: ‘The problem is the lack of economic growth and sound policy in other countries – not so much ours.’

That declaration came just days after the Commerce Department announced that the Consumer Price Index was 8.2 percent higher than it was a year ago – was barely down from last month’s 8.3 per cent, with core inflation, which takes out currently rampant energy and food costs, up 6.6 percent.

The visit to Portland came as part of a three-state tour in the Western US by Biden to garner support for progressive candidates during the upcoming midterm elections.

Rent and other essentials have also drastically risen in recent months under Biden’s administration – occurrences that the president seemed oblivious too during his de facto ice cream social, which came during a planned visit to boost Democrat Kotek in Oregon’s tight race for governor.

A mix of high crime, homelessness and an independent spoiler candidate has surprisingly propelled GOP nominee Christine Drazan into first place.

This visit to the Baskin Robin’s, meanwhile – which Kotek also attended – saw Biden engage in even more questionable behavior, when he seemingly went in to smell a female patron’s hair after introducing himself to her and what appeared to be the woman’s young daughter.

The bizarre interaction has since gone viral, being shared thousands of times just a day after Biden, 79, drew criticism from Republicans for giving unsolicited dating advice to a young teen girl in California – much to her apparent discomfort – in an interaction that was also recorded.

‘Now, a very important thing I told me daughters and granddaughters – no serious guys until you’re 30!’ he told a bemused teen in the now viral video, which show the girl become visibly uncomfortable as Secret Service agents notice the incident is being films and seemingly attempt to stop the camera operator from recording.

Biden continues to get away with this behavior and has for a long time.

(FreedomWire.org) – The president held a dramatic celebration of the “Inflation Reduction Act” on Tuesday afternoon at the White House, with a host of Democrat members of congress and guests.

This celebration occurred on the same day the federal government revealed that consumer prices rose again in August.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Price Index released Tuesday morning shows that inflation in August rose one-tenth of a percentage point from July and up 8.3 percent from the previous year.

Grocery prices continue rising fast, as prices rose 0.7 percent from July and 13.5 percent from the previous year. Restaurant prices are up 0.9 percent from July

The “Inflation Reduction Act” spends billions of dollars subsidizing green energy projects, subsidies for electric cars, and propping up government-subsidized health care.
But the cost of health insurance and energy keeps rising.

Health insurance rose 2.4 percent over the past month and up 24.3 percent from the previous year. Electricity prices rose 1.5 percent from the previous month, and natural gas rose 3.5 percent.

Biden told supporters on Monday the United States was making progress on inflation.

“The American people should have confidence that we’re on the right track, that we’re seeing real progress,” he said at an event in Boston on Monday.

Inflation is still red-hot, despite an anticipated decrease from economists.

The latest report is a tough blow for a President who last month signed the misnomered ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ and an administration that tried telling the American people inflation had peaked.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo was rather confident the Consumer Price Index was on the slide back in July, saying inflation has “probably” peaked, but that could change due to factors “out of our control.”

Those factors cited were “another war” and “another COVID,” neither of which contributed to the August report.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre engaged in a bit of mathematical wizardry when she declared last month’s 8.5% year-over-year rise in inflation to magically be “0%.”

“We just received news that our economy had 0% inflation in July,” she said in a blatantly false statement. “While the price of some things went up, the price of others, like gas, clothing, and more, dropped.”

Former President Barack Obama, in a White House appearance just days ago, praised President Biden and told the American people they are “better off” under his administration.

To host a party to celebrate inflation is a slap to American’s faces, talk about adding insult to injury.

The White House should have at least waited for The Bureau of Labor Statistics, to release the consumer price index report, before planning a celebration.

(FreedomWire.org) – CNN’s Kate Bolduan pressed an economic adviser in the Biden administration to explain why the “Inflation Reduction Act” doesn’t actually reduce inflation and she laughed at the answer.

Bolduan was interviewing Cecilia Rouse, the chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisors, on the signing of the bill Tuesday and the official scoring that said it doesn’t actually do what it says it will do.

“Democrats titled this bill the Inflation Reduction Act, which begs of course for voters to hold you all accountable to that,” said Bolduan.

“The Congressional Budget Office, you know this, but to remind viewers, the non-partisan kind of scoring organization for legislation, says that the bill would have negligible impact on inflation this year and next,” Bolduan continued. “Are you personally comfortable as an economist calling it the inflation reduction act?”

“So this bill represents really important investments we know we need to make that help to expand our economic capacity,” Rouse responded.

“Inflation happens when we have too much demand for the supply, and we know we need to be investing in the supply supports so we are better able as a country to address issues like inflation going forward,” she added. “So this will increase our economic growth, and because of how we planned to implement it and provisions in the bill, that growth will be more equably shared.”

Bolduan persisted.

“But if you passed a bill called the Fill Every Pot Hole Act, I mean voters should expect you to fill every pot hole. So should voters measure the success of this bill on how much you reduce inflation in the next couple of years?” Bolduan asked.

Rouse went on to explain that the bill’s benefits would be spread out over many years, but she did not actually answer why it didn’t actually lower inflation.

“Yeah,” Bolduan replied.

“And a name is just a name, but there are definitely a lot of other names you could have named this bill!” she laughed.

Rouse was similarly pilloried by another CNN anchor, Jake Tapper, in July when he pointed out that Biden officials kept coming out to say they were working on inflation while it kept getting worse.
