(FreedomWire.org) – The California Highway Patrol has finally released photos and videos from the night of May 28th in its investigation of a car crash involving Paul Pelosi, House Speaker and Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi’s husband.
Paul Pelosi pleaded guilty to a DUI misdemeanor charge on Tuesday. He was initially sentenced to five days in prison and three years probation but will avoid further time behind bars thanks to our two-tier justice system.
As part of his probation, Pelosi will have to attend a three-month drinking driver class, and install an ignition interlock device, which requires the driver to provide a breath sample before the engine starts. And will have to pay around $7,000 in fines according to Napa County Superior Court Judge Joseph Solga.
Pelosi’s 2021 Porsche collided with a 2014 Jeep in a crash at around 10:17 p.m. on May 28. Responding officers from California Highway Patrol found Pelosi sitting in his driver’s seat in the damaged car near the intersection of California Route 29 and Oakville Cross Road.
As seen in the video, he tells one of the officers that he had a “glass of champagne before dinner” and “a glass of white.”
He later told the officers that he started drinking at 7 pm and finished at 8 pm. He was taken to the Queen of the Valley Hospital and to the county jail soon thereafter. Blood examination reports reveal that he had a blood-alcohol content of .082%.
Photos released by the California Highway Patrol show bruises on Pelosi’s hands and forearms and critical damage on both vehicles.
When officers asked Pelosi to show his ID, he handed them his driver’s license along with an “11-99 foundation” card. He had slurred speech when talking to the officers. The 11-99 Foundation is a California Highway Patrol charity that supports officers and provides scholarships for their children.
In his field sobriety tests, officers report that they “observed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.”
“He’s constantly grabbing onto the patrol car just to keep his balance,”
an officer reported.
Some felt that the sentence Pelosi received was not harsh enough.
