(FreedomWire.org) – Mexican cartels are using Xylazine, an animal tranquilizer, as a cutting agent for fentanyl, according to a report exclusively obtained by The Center Square.

On March 3, 2023, the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center unclassified a Situational Awareness Bulletin prepared by the Southern Tactical Intelligence Unit, in conjunction with the Joint Strategic Analysis Unit, to make state and local law enforcement agencies aware of an emerging trend: Mexican cartels are lacing fentanyl with Xylazine.

The ACTIC report states, “On February 27, 2023, STIU received information regarding cartels using xylazine as a cutting agent for fentanyl products.”

“Unlike fentanyl, xylazine is not an opioid and does not respond to the use of naloxone (Narcan). Although it may appear ineffective in someone with both fentanyl and xylazine in their system, law enforcement or emergency personnel should utilize Narcan,” the bulletin states. Because Narcan only counters the effects of the opioid in a mixture, those poisoned by it “may require additional measures to survive,” the bulletin states.

While there is little peer-reviewed data about prior law enforcement or emergency medical personnel being exposed to xylazine, the bulletin warns first responders to “take all precautions when dealing with illicit substances or overdose victims and utilize personal protective equipment to minimize exposure.”

Xylazine is a pharmaceutical drug used for sedation, anesthesia, muscle relaxation for horses, cattle, and other non-human mammals. It isn’t a controlled substance and can only be purchased with a veterinary prescription. When purchased online in liquid or powder form, it’s “often with no association to the veterinary profession nor requirements to prove legitimate need,” the bulletin notes, citing a U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency report.

(FreedomWire.org) – FBI Director Chris Wray seemed to contradicted Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday.

During a House Homeland Security Committee, Secretary Mayorkas was called to testify,  Rep. Sanford Bishop (R-NC) directed a straightforward question to Mayorkas, which the embattled security chief directly answered.

Bishop first asked Mayorkas, “do you continue to maintain that the border is secure?”

Mayorkas answered, “yes, and we are working day in and day out to enhance its security congressman.”

Rep. Bishop quickly cut off Mayorkas from trying to explain or qualify his “yes” response and pivoted to asking FBI Director Asher Wray the same question.

Bishop then question director Wray, “do you believe the border is secure?”

Wray responded, “Well, I can only speak to border security from our narrow lane. I can speak to it from that lane.”

Wray continued, “We see transnational criminal organizations that are sending their drugs here and that are using street gangs here to distribute it. And that contributes to the violent crime crisis here.”

Director Wray’s assessment of the “significant” criminal activity along the border completely contradicts Mayorkas assertion that the border continued to be secure

“We see significant criminal threats coming from south of the border, whether its guns, drugs, money, violence, we see transnational criminal organizations that are sending their drugs here and that are using street gangs here to distribute it here, and that contributes to the violent crime crisis here,” added Wray.

Wray went on to say that during one joint Border Patrol/ FBI takedown alone, the amount of fentanyl that was seized was enough to kill the entire population of Pennsylvania.

Since President Biden took office, the border crisis and criminal human and drug trafficking have reached staggering levels and Republicans have been able to politically capitalize on the growing crime wave that has swept the nation as a result of the border crisis.

“Mayorkas continues to either lie to Congress or is ignorant. Director Wray’s clear admission cartels are rampant at the border undercuts the Biden Administration’s claim. A GOP majority we will continue to expose these falsehoods through investigations,” stated Rep. Michael Waltz (R) in response to The Floridian’s request for comment.

Congressman-elect Cory Mills, who was one of the very few Republican congressional candidates in the country to actually travel to the U.S.-Mexico border to access the crisis, believes that the Biden administration needs to be held accountable for compromising U.S. national security by refusing to secure the southern border.

“We will hold the Biden administration accountable for every single one of their dangerous and unconstitutional missteps that have put Americans in harm’s way,” said Mills.  “The open border policy this administration has put in place is an imminent threat to our national security and our nation’s sovereignty.”

“There is no way you can say the border is secure if you look at it at any level,” said Rep. Gallego when asked about the Mayorkas remark that the border was secure.

Rep. Pfluger to Mayorkas: “How can you say the border is secure? The American people aren’t buying it.”

(FreedomWire.org) – Nearly 5 million illegal immigrants have crossed U.S. borders in the 18 months since President Joe Biden took office, according to a new report.

A total of 4.9 million illegal aliens, including some 900,000 “gotaways” who evaded apprehension and have since disappeared into American communities, have entered the country by the end of July, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said in a statement on Aug. 16.

“Roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland has illegally entered the United States in the 18 months President Biden has been in office, with many being released into American communities,” FAIR President Dan Stein said in the press release.

He blamed Biden for putting the unprecedented surge down to external factors, not the administration’s own “sabotage” of immigration laws. After rolling back key Trump-era policies, Biden presided over the largest number of apprehensions of illegal immigrants at the U.S.–Mexico border in a calendar year in history, recording almost 1.9 million arrests last year.

“The endless flow of illegal aliens and the incursion of lethal narcotics pouring across our border will not end until this administration demonstrates a willingness to enforce our laws,” Stein said.

Two million illegal aliens have entered the country in the first 10 months of this financial year, according to data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). In June, more than 207,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended attempting to cross the U.S.–Mexico border, making this the highest number of June apprehensions in history.

Although July saw a slim decline in CBP encounters at the southwest border of nearly 200,000, it turned out to be the 17th straight month with more than 150,000 encounters, representing a 325 percent increase over the average number of July apprehensions under the Trump administration, the statement reads.

Among the over 213,000 illegal aliens deported from the border in July, only 37 percent of the arrests led to expulsions under Title 42—a 7 percent drop from last month. Border agents processed the majority of the rest under Title 8, which oftentimes lets illegal aliens be released into the U.S. interior while their cases sit in backlogged immigration courts.

The Biden administration announced it would end the Trump-era Title 42, a border policy put in place on public health grounds amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which it had been forced to keep in place owing to a lack of notice.

CBP also reported 10 individuals on the FBI’s terror watchlist were apprehended in July between ports of entry at the southwest border, pushing the total for the current fiscal year to 66.

Meanwhile, CPB seized 2,130 pounds of the synthetic opioid fentanyl last month, more than three times that intercepted in June, and topping the previous monthly record of nearly 1,300 pounds set in April.

It nearly equals the total amount of fentanyl confiscated throughout 2019.

(FreedomWire.org) – Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard says Vice President Kamala Harris is showing outrage for Brittney Griner, but not for her fellow Americans who are sitting in prison today because of minor marijuana violations — including some of whom were prosecuted by Harris when she was the California Attorney General.

“How come you are not fighting as hard for them to be returned home and reunited with their families as you are for Brittney Griner,” Gabbard said to Fox News’ Will Cain.

“To me, the message to the American people through the administration’s actions is loud and clear, is that if you are rich and powerful or famous, then you will get special treatment from this administration. If you are not. We don’t care about you, and we’re going to let you sit there and rot in jail.”

Her comments come after WNBA player Brittney Griner was sentenced to nine years in prison in Russia. Griner was convicted of carrying vape cartridges containing cannabis oil. She’s also been ordered to pay a fine of one million Rubles.

In June, the Biden administration offered to exchange convicted Russian arms trafficker Viktor Bout for Griner and Paul Whelan.

Russian official Dmitry Peskov said that “no agreements have been finalized.”

Gabbard was responding to a tweet from Harris in which the Vice President said Russia is wrongfully detaining Griner who should be released immediately.

“POTUS and I, and our entire Administration, are working every day to reunite Brittney, as well as Paul Whelan, with loved ones who miss each of them dearly,” Harris wrote on Twitter.

(FreedomWire.org) – The head of the Department of Homeland Security made a claim this week about the state of the U.S.-Mexico border that is getting a great deal of pushback from those assigned to patrol it.

“Look, the border is secure,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told an audience at the Aspen Security Forum on Tuesday. “We are working to make the border more secure. That has been a historic challenge.”

He went on to blame lawmakers for failing to pass broader immigration legislation until the security situation is taken care of, Fox News reported.

“I have said to a number of legislators who expressed to me that we need to address the challenge at the border before they pass legislation and I take issue with the math of holding the solution hostage until the problem is resolved,” he added.

“There is work to be done,” Mayorkas continued before noting further that “safe and secure are two different words.”

“There are smugglers that operate on the Mexican side of the border and placing one’s life in their hands is not safe,” said the DHS boss.

But Border Patrol agents and officials who spoke with Fox News gave a far different version of reality.

“Hundreds of thousands crossing every month is not the definition of secure,” one agent told the network. “They are liars and anyone who believes them are fools.”

Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) also disputed that the border is secure, pointing to not only the drug flows into the U.S., but also the number of migrants that get past agents.

A high-level CBP source told Fox News last month that there have been 440,000 known gotaways since the fiscal year began in October — with over 50,000 in May. Combined with the 400,000 known gotaways since the beginning of FY 2021, that means that more than 800,000 illegal immigrants have gotten past agents since October 2020.

“As bad as the apprehension numbers are, and they are beyond bad, the scariest part of border security is the gotaways and the amount of drugs that are coming into the country,” Judd told Fox News. “Secretary Mayorkas knows the cartels use illegal border crossers to facilitate their higher value contraband including criminal aliens and fentanyl.

“Secretary Mayorkas knows we have the least secure border in our history as evidenced by nearly one million known gotaways and over 100,000 overdose deaths from narcotics coming across our southwest border,” he continued.

“There are easy solutions but based upon the evidence and a refusal to implement programs to secure the border it is clear this Administration including Secretary Mayorkas clearly does not care about the American people,” Judd noted further.

Another Border Patrol agent anonymously told Fox News that Mayorkas is telling the American people “bald face lies” regarding the situation along the southwestern border.

“They’re using issues like poverty, crime and climate change as reasons for asylum but those do not meet the legal standard of the law,” said the agent before going on to claim that the vast majority of asylum claims are “absolutely bogus.”

“Mayorkas, [Border Patrol Chief Raul] Ortiz and [President] Biden are failures that do not have the support of agents and many command staff, they all have violated their ‘oath’ of office to defend the laws and Constitution and should be removed,” the second agent added.

The Biden administration is supposedly concentrating efforts in response to the ongoing migrant crisis by focusing on so-called “root causes” such as corruption and poverty in Central America, though migrants are crossing illegally from dozens of countries not in Central America, Fox News reported.

(FreedomWire.org) – Multiple Texas Counties have now issued “declarations of invasion” in response to the worsening border crisis.

During a Sunday morning appearance on Fox News, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott put Biden’s illegal alien “invasion” into proper, eye-opening perspective.

Abbott said, “first, it was Texas leading the way in getting court decisions to keep the Remain in Mexico policy and keep the Title 42 policy in place. Obviously, as you point out, the Supreme Court has stricken down the Remain in Mexico policy.”

He went on to put it in to perspective just how bad it is, “let me just give you the numbers that were provided by the Biden administration. They predicted that after the elimination of these policies, we should have about 18,000 people coming across the border illegally per day.”

“Extrapolate that for an annual basis, you’re going to have more than 6 million people coming across the border a year.”

“We will have about one Houston coming across the border every year,” Abbott said.

“So this is going to be a total disaster,” warned Abbott.

Abbott remained incensed about Biden’s purposeful illegal invasion of his state, along with Arizona and California.

“Listen, these counties are dealing with something that’s completely unprecedented. Remember this, it was just two years ago we had the lowest number of people coming across the border and apprehensions under President Trump, and then President Biden took over and eliminated all of the policies that President Trump put in place, and it has led to this unprecedented, overwhelming number of people coming across the border.”

“So, yes, we do have an invasion driven by the cartels coming across our border that are pouring people into our country at unprecedented levels.”

Abbott said “technical reasons” in the U.S. Constitution allow Texas to classify the Biden Border Crisis as an invasion, thus triggering additional strategies the Lone Star State and other states can implement against the ongoing crisis.

“There are two parts of the U.S. Constitution, Article IV, section four [and] Article I section 10. In that executive order that I issued this past week, I referenced both of those, plus I referenced a provision of the Texas constitution that also uses the word invasion.”

“The purpose of using those words is it triggers certain additional ways and strategies that states can use their powers to try to protect against actions such as this that are driven by the cartels.”

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and other state agencies during the Biden administration have led to more than 236,000 migrant apprehensions, along with almost 14,000 criminal arrests and more than 11,300 felony charges.

Over 3,800 weapons and almost $30 million in currency have been seized, as well. And here’s arguably the most important statistic of all: In the ongoing battle against America’s real pandemic — deadly fentanyl — DPS agents have seized more than 300 million lethal doses throughout the state.

(FreedomWire.org) – Federal agents have apprehended a cocaine-smuggling gang, and discovered a sophisticated cross-border tunnel almost a third of a mile long. Nearly a ton of drugs were seized during the operation, and six people were arrested. This is a major blow to the drug cartels, but how many more of these tunnels are operating?

Just after midnight on May 13, federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations were carrying out surveillance on a residence in National City, California, just outside San Diego. The agents followed one of the suspects to a San Diego warehouse about 300 feet north of the Mexican border. When they searched the warehouse, they discovered one end of a tunnel that turned out to be 1,744 feet long and 4 feet wide; the other end was under a house in Tijuana, Mexico. The steel-reinforced tunnel ran six feet below ground level and was equipped with electric lighting, a ventilation system and rails to move heavy loads. During the operation, agents arrested six people and seized 3.5 pounds of heroin, 164 pounds of methamphetamine, and 1,762 pounds of cocaine.

This tunnel is the first to be found since 2020, but it’s unlikely to be the only one in use. Last year, fatal drug overdoses in the US jumped by 15% as the country was swamped by a wave of illegal narcotics. The situation at our southern border is now a major emergency and the Biden administration needs to act.

(FreedomWire.org) – While appearing on Jesse Watters Primetime last Friday, Border Patrol union chief Brandon Judd stated the Biden administration isn’t punishing illegal border crossings.

Judd said,  “First thing I would do is, I would re-implement the Migrant Protection Protocols, but even if he chose not to do that, he could operate within his parameters. Stop the catch-and-release, hold people in our custody here in the United States pending their deportation or asylum proceedings. If he did that, people would stop coming. Again, it’s like a light switch. They will not give the cartels thousands of dollars to be smuggled to the United States if they know they’re going to go back. The only people that are benefiting from this are illegal border-crossers, the drug smugglers and the cartels. They’re generating billions of dollars … it is policy that is allowing these people to generate the billions of dollars.”

DHS officials, including Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, have been grilled by Republican lawmakers as the leadership within DHS continues to deny responsibility for the historic increase in illegal border crossings and drugs being smuggled into the United States.

“By the way What would you call what’s happening at the border? Is it a crisis?” Hawley asked.

“I believe we’re facing significant challenges at the border, sir,” Neto replied.

“Challenges. Is it a problem?” Hawley followed up.

“I think there are parts of the border where we have seen particularly problematic flows,” said Neto.

Democrats keep telling us we don’t need strong borders. But while President Trump has repeatedly been called “racist” for wanting to improve our border security, the men and women keeping America safe once again showed us that they are needed — by snagging a massive amount of methamphetamine intended for sale within our borders.

The bust came after Customs and Border Patrol inspected a tractor-trailer the driver says was carrying medical supplies. Instead, they found more than 3,000 pounds of meth, 64 pounds of heroin, 29 pounds of fentanyl, and 37 pounds of fentanyl pills. While some were technically medical supplies, it’s clear that none of them would be used medicinally. The drugs were found after an imaging system used by border agents detected some abnormalities. A K-9-assisted search of the car turned up the drugs. The drugs are worth an estimated $7.2 million.

Border Patrol uncovered a massive stash of drugs being smuggled into the country.

“Smugglers will try every way possible to try and get their product across the border and because of the partnership between CBP, Homeland Security investigations and DEA this significant seizure occurred and we stopped them,” says San Diego acting CBP director of field operations Anne Maricich.“I’m proud of the CBP officers’ dedication to our mission; they continue to stop dangerous drugs from entering our communities.”

The driver of the vehicle was a Mexican citizen, who was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Though liberals claim that Mexican drug dealers are not bringing poison into our country, this latest incident proves that not only is it happening — but it’s a major problem.

Our border patrol is the first line of defense against dangerous people and drugs making their way into the country. While Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the Democrat Party wants to weaken our borders, this shows the danger of their open borders policies. President Trump will continue to protect us, so be sure to vote on November 3.
