(FreedomWire.org) – Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) publicly came out shaming the Biden administration for not standing by him during his sexual harassment scandal last year.

Telling a New York Post reporter, Cuomo said that it was “traumatizing” that no one from his party supported him during that time.

Saying that he has been friends with President Joe Biden for almost 20 years, the disgraced governor said that it was “heartbreaking” to see Biden turn his back on him without knowing the full story.

“It was tough. Traumatizing. Biden, a friend 20 years, not knowing details, immediately said about me, ‘He’s got to go.’ Biden had troubles years before and I stood by him… gave him the benefit of the doubt. It was heartbreaking to see him trash me without reading one page, making one phone call,” Cuomo said.

Calling the phrase “political friends” an oxymoron, Cuomo went on to call out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) and former President Obama, as well as other Democrat figures for not being by his side during the allegations.

“I know [Pelosi] 30 years… her daughter worked for me. Obama? He’s been tough. When troubles come you like to think you’re different. You’re not,” Cuomo said, adding “enemies and haters accumulate. Schumer, Gillibrand, pals working in the state, friends I respected, fell like dominos. Lose your power and heartless politicians read the tea leaves. You’re dead. Over. Pols grab another piece of meat.”

Additionally, the former governor said that he has learned to not show signs of weakness to the public after watching his own father’s “vulnerabilities” be exposed during his own political career.

“OK, I’m not warm and fuzzy. What politician is? Maybe my duality started when my father was no longer governor. I saw him hurt. His vulnerabilities exposed. They broke his heart. The press next crucified me, his campaign manager kid. So I learned then not to expose a weakness or show your inner self,” Cuomo told the reporter.

Even so, Cuomo has yet to apologize for anything, including killing a staggering number of nursing home patients during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

(FreedomWire.org) – The coming midterm elections are not looking good for Democrats. Short of some miracle, Democrats are going to get smacked with a Red Wave in November.

Over 30 Democrat incumbents announced their retirements, which is usually a clear sign of coming doom.

While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has announced that she will run for re-election — which some saw as a move to “help” her struggling party — a Punchbowl News poll taken among senior House staffers found that 60% believe that the California Democrat will retire after the midterm elections.

“The poll also sampled general House staffers. Among the typical House staffers, 54 percent said Pelosi will retire. Congressional staffers are personnel that assists members of Congress and committees, answer constituent mail, write questions for committee hearings, conduct communication duties, and plot legislative maneuvers,” Breitbart reported.

“That more senior staffers believe Pelosi will retire likely comes from more experience and therefore carries more weight. Senior staffers told Punchbowl News Pelosi would not announce her retirement in the middle of a congressional session. But they do acknowledge Pelosi has previously said this would be her last term as speaker,” the outlet added.

National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Emmer is very confident that Republicans will take back the U.S. House of Representatives next year.

During an interview with Breitbart, Emmer said Republicans are going to retire House Speaker Nancy Pelosi once and for all.

Emmer said Republicans “should find a candidate or candidates, they should share their treasure by supporting them financially, they should share their talents by offering to volunteer in a campaign, because look, the world is run by those who show up and those who show up and do the work, they own our freedom, and there’s never been a time like right now, Matt, to get involved and take a position.”

“If you sit back and be quiet, you’re not gonna be happy with what these socialist Democrats are gonna do to our country, cause this is no longer a choice between a degree of freedom — the right of someone to self-determine versus the size and scope of government — this is literally a choice between two fundamentally different views of the United States of America. On one side, the socialists, they wanna make all the decisions for you. On the other side, we still believe in free markets and the right of people to achieve their American dream by hard work and playing by the rules,” he said.

No matter what happens with Pelosi, Democrats should be very worried that they will lose control of the House in the 2022 midterm elections.

According to a new poll from Democracy Corps, enthusiasm among Republicans to vote in the midterm elections outpaces Democrats by double digits.

The survey found that 68% of Republicans remain engaged ahead of 2022. Meanwhile, Democrats have seen their engagement slip to 57%, an 11-point cushion for the GOP.

The survey also found that Republican voters remain firmly in the camp of Trump, with only 16% of Republicans identifying as “non-Trump conservatives.”

In the battleground states, which most likely decide the balance of power, only 9% of Republican voters identify themselves as part of the same group.

The survey comes as the GOP is poised to take back the House next November and could even regain control of the Senate.

Thirty-seven percent cited as their top priority “D.C. corruption/dysfunction,” followed by 18% who said immigration, 10% who said healthcare, and 10% who said jobs and the economy.

Republicans need a net gain of 5 seats to regain the House majority in the midterms next November.

House Republicans have history on their side as they aim to regain the chamber.

The party that controls the White House, which is currently the Democrats, on average loses roughly 25 House seats in the midterm elections.

And the once-in-a-decade redistricting process – pegged to the 2020 census – is expected to generally favor Republicans over Democrats.

(FreedomWire.org) – Democrats would be very happy if you forgot the real reason inflation is so high. Last year, Joe Biden signed into law a “stimulus” bill that flooded our economy with $1 trillion. He didn’t plan on paying for this new spending. It was entirely “new” money, printed up by the government.

Of course, this was a terrible idea, since it lowered the value of the dollar tremendously. That and other ripple effects triggered massive inflation, which has yet to slow down.

Millions of Americans are struggling to pay for basic necessities. Many are feeling the pain at the pump, especially those who need to drive for work.

All the Democrats need to do is pull back on radical policies that are inflating the cost of energy and food. Instead, they want to do the exact same thing that got us in this mess in the first place.

With the price of gas rising across the U.S., lawmakers are developing a string of proposals to help motorists – from $400 rebates for all taxpayers in California to imposing windfall taxes on oil companies or a sliding scale of payments that could net families as much as $300 every month…

A new bill proposed by three Democrats – Reps. Mike Thompson of California, John Larson of Connecticut and Lauren Underwood of Illinois – could be worth $300 each month to some families if the price of a gallon stays above $4.

This is why we need to get rid of Democrats as soon as possible. They have created the economic crises we are currently in, due to reckless spending. Yet their “solution” is to dish out more free money, in the form of $300 payments to Americans. Oh, sure, that sounds good, if you are only looking ahead to November. But this will make things much worse.

Democrats seem to be trying to pay off voters. Prices are going up. So instead of slashing taxes, eliminating costly regulations, and reducing government fines and fees, they want to spend more money. But when you’re in debt, you don’t spend more cash to get out of it. You cut back on spending. Democrats know this, but they don’t seem to care. They only want to make it look like they are helping.

(FreedomWire.org) – On Monday, Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz slammed Democrats for filibustering Republican-nominated black and Hispanic judicial nominees in the past.

Cruz made his blistering remarks during Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearings.

President Biden had committed to only considering a black woman for the Supreme Court seat to replace Justice Stephen Breyer.

Cruz began by saying, “The senior Democrats in this committee happily filibustered Judge Janice Rogers Brown, the very qualified African American woman nominated to the D.C. Circuit.”

“And they did so precisely because they wanted to prevent Judge Brown from becoming Justice Brown, the first African American woman. Joe Biden was among the Democrats the first African American woman nominated to the D.C. Circuit,” the senator claimed.

In 2003, Democrats originally blocked Rogers Brown’s confirmation to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, saying her supposed ideological stances were too “out of the legal mainstream” for the D.C. district court.

Brown was re-nominated and confirmed two years later by a 56-43 vote.

Her journey to the Supreme Court would end there, after then-Senator Joe Biden threatened on “Face the Nation” that Brown would be filibustered if President George W. Bush nominated her for the Supreme Court.

Cruz then cited Democrats’ 2003 filibuster over the nomination of Miguel Estrada to the U.S. Court of Appeals. Estrada, a Honduran immigrant, was nominated by Bush.

The Washington Times reported at the time, “In one memo to Sen. Richard J. Durbin of Illinois obtained by The Washington Times, Washington lawyer Miguel A. Estrada is singled out as ‘especially dangerous’ because “he has a minimal paper trail, he is Latino, and the White House seems to be grooming him for a Supreme Court appointment.”

Estrada eventually withdrew his nomination after eight months of Democrats using the “Jim Crow filibuster.”

Cruz said of these Democrat filibusters of the past on Monday, “They were explicitly racial, if you are Hispanic or African American and you dare depart from their political orthodoxy, they will crush you, they will attack you, they will slander you, they will filibuster you.”

“So this is not about race,” Cruz said.

(FreedomWire.org) – After receiving plenty of funds from numerous federal COVID-19 pandemic recovery bills, Democratic-led states are blocking Republican legislators’ efforts to give relief to taxpayers.

According to a December report by CNBC, since the pandemic began in March 2020, the federal government has passed more than $5 trillion in spending dedicated to battling the pandemic.

Billions of those funds went to states to compensate for increased unemployment benefits, school reopening, and a myriad of pandemic-related expenses.

However, many states spent only a fraction of the funds allocated to them, leaving the budget in a surplus.

Now, Republican legislators in some of these “blue states” are trying to get tax relief bills passed, using cash from the surplus of pandemic-related funds to return money to taxpayers in those states.

Yet, according to the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), their efforts are being thwarted by Democrats.

Deputy Communications Director of the RSLC, Mason Di Palma, expressed dismay at what Democrats are doing, writing in a statement that “Americans are struggling… with record inflation and skyrocketing gas prices” an issue he attributed to “the failed policies of Joe Biden and his liberal allies.”

Di Palma acknowledged that while Republicans in Colorado, New Mexico, Maryland, Vermont, and Washington “are looking to ease the financial pain for their constituents by introducing tax reform bills… Democrats are playing politics with people’s lives.”

He noted that Democrats had blocked the proposals “At a time where Americans could use a little relief.”

The RSLC also referenced a poll it sponsored in battleground states that found 74% of voters in those states support a tax cut.

The poll conducted by Cygnal surveyed 2,217 likely voters from 13 states, including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

It also revealed that 95% of voters felt the cost of living and rising inflation would determine how they vote in the upcoming elections.

Pointing to Democratic-led Colorado, the RSLC mentioned that state Democrats blocked HB1021, a bill that “would have reduced both individual and corporate state income tax rates from 4.55% to 4.4%.”

Tax-reducing bills in New Mexico, Vermont, Maryland, and Washington have also stalled, according to the RSLC.

(FreedomWire.org) – This is not good news for the left.

Democrats face another threat to their victory going into this year’s midterms: the frustrated nonwhite voters who have been most impacted by record inflation.

According to a recent poll published by The Wall Street Journal, 35 percent of nonwhite – which includes Hispanic, Black, and Asian American – voters revealed that inflation was putting significant pressure on their finances compared to less than a third of white voters relating the pressure.

These statistics do not bode well for Democrats, who are already on the back foot going into this year’s midterms, especially as it relates to a key demographic who helped them establish majorities and win gubernatorial bids.

But these nonwhite voters are not simply apathetic. Many believe that Republicans are better equipped to tame inflation than their Democratic counterparts; some have even indicated they would be voting for GOP candidates rather than Democrats.

Hispanic voters seem to be the most likely nonwhite voters to cast their ballots in favor of Republicans. According to the poll, 46 percent of Hispanic voters said they would “probably or definitely” be voting for a Republican in the 2022 midterm elections.

In all, 60 percent of those polled said inflation was causing “major or minor financial strain.” Some reportedly blamed President Joe Biden’s actions – in instances where he shut down the Keystone XL pipeline and paused federal oil and gas leases – for causing rampant inflation.

The poll also revealed that all voters reported inflation and rising prices being their most important issues, beating issues like the Russia-Ukraine crisis, COVID-19 pandemic, border security, and immigration.

(FreedomWire.org) – With the Russia-Ukraine war disrupting the global oil market, Americans still can’t get a break at the gas pump as prices stay steadily high.

The national gas price average is $4.31 per gallon, AAA reported.

In an attempt to alleviate the pain of these prices, Democratic lawmakers have proposed a new bill.

New legislation, called the “Big Oil Windfall Profits Tax,” was introduced by Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse from Rhode Island and Rep. Ro Khanna from California.

The legislation is also cosponsored by other major Democrats like Sens. Jeff Merkley, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Richard Blumenthal, Tammy Baldwin, Cory Booker, Michael Bennet and Bob Casey, Rigzone news reported.

This proposed legislation would place a tax on oil barrels sold by large producers. The tax would be “equal to 50 percent of the difference between the current price of a barrel of oil and the pre-pandemic average price per barrel between 2015 and 2019,” Fox News reported.

If oil prices are at $120 per barrel, this tax would raise an estimated $45 billion a year, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The money from this tax would then be sent to consumers as a quarterly rebate, the legislation outlines. The cutoff for the rebate would be for single people making $75,000 or more and families making $150,000 or more.

“Under that price scenario, the revenue split up for taxpayer rebates would amount to an annual payment of $240 for a single filer earning less than $75,000 and $360 for joint filers earning less than $150,000, proponents said,” the Wall Street Journal reported.

Khanna said that this tax is meant to hold big oil companies accountable and protect Americans.

“This is a bill to reduce gas prices and hold Big Oil accountable. As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine sends gas prices soaring, fossil fuel companies are raking in record profits.

These companies have made billions and used the profits to enrich their own shareholders while average Americans are hurting at the pump,” Khanna said, Fox News reported.

“We’ve seen this script before, and we cannot allow the fossil fuel industry to once again collect a massive windfall by taking advantage of an international crisis,” Whitehouse said.

A press release from Whitehouse and Khanna said the increase in gas prices “is not justified by increases in the cost of domestic production, but is driven by international markets controlled by fossil fuel cartels,” Fox News reported.

However, the proposed legislation has already garnered heavy criticism for not being a tenable solution to the oil crisis the U.S. is facing.

“The American people are looking for solutions, not finger-pointing,” Frank Macchiarola, the vice president of policy, economics and regulatory affairs at the American Petroleum Institute told the Wall Street Journal.

The American Petroleum Institute said that lawmakers should not be creating policies to discourage investment, but instead should find solutions that will increase American oil supply.

Experts are saying that policies like this proposed tax would likely even backfire and just make energy and oil costs worse in the long run.

“Policies like a so-called windfall profits tax are misguided and would likely backfire by further driving up energy costs for American families and businesses,” Anne Bradbury, the CEO of American Exploration and Production Council CEO said, Fox News reported.

Policies like this are bad, short-term fixes. It’s like trying to put a Barbie Band-Aid on a wound that needs stitches. It might help the bleeding for a moment, but it won’t heal the wound.

“We believe that the solution to rising energy prices should be clear to our nation’s leaders: support domestic production of oil and natural gas and permit the pipelines and infrastructure needed to safely move energy to customers,” Bradbury said.

Sure, big oil may be making money off of an international crisis, but the answer to that is not taxing them into oblivion as punishment. That would de-incentivize them from producing oil, and then the country would end up in yet another oil supply crisis with rising gas prices.

In the current global oil crisis and market shift, these Democrat lawmakers are searching for answers. They have more or less run into Occam’s razor. They could either simply promote domestic oil production to ease the crisis, or they could come up with complicated theories for solutions.

Occam’s razor states that the simplest solution is usually the best. But Democrats have chucked that logic and gone for the complicated ideas.

But this is no solution and it won’t solve Americans’ problem at the gas pump.

(FreedomWire.org) – If the joint session of Congress is anything to go by, masks are officially out.

President Biden delivered his first State of the Union to a largely maskless congress, as most members abandoned masks following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) changing their guidance on the restriction earlier this week.

Democrats’ maskless faces strongly contrasted the party’s overwhelmingly supportive stance on mask mandates for the past two years. However, in recent months some have deviated from that stance as public opinion soured on the mask mandates.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also withdrew the requirement to wear masks in the House, just ahead of Biden’s congressional address — a rule the Senate had never implemented.

Among a sea of maskless faces, the handful of lawmakers who wore masks stood out.
House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) was one of those who stood out, as he was one of a few House Democrats wearing a mask. His decision to wear the face-covering was shared by Democrat Senator John Ossof of Georgia.

There were also a few of Biden’s Cabinet secretaries who attended the State of the Union wearing masks. The list included United Nations Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

Republicans, who have in many instances been the most vocal opponents to mask mandates, embraced the new rules without a mask in sight.

(FreedomWire.org) – There’s been predictions for a while now that Republicans could secure massive gains in the 2022 midterm elections, and one senator, Rick Scott (R-FL) is certainly planning ahead for that kind of success.

Scott spoke on Fox News Digital on Tuesday to release his 11-point plan with 128 specific policy goals that he believes can serve as the agenda for the Republican-controlled Senate he anticipates, referring to it as “My Plan to Rescue America,” according to Fox Business.

Scott constructed the plan based on his previous experience as a corporate executive in the health care industry, before going on to become a two-term Florida governor, until finally holding his current office as one of Florida’s senators.

The policy points in his proposal spread across a wide array of subjects and include goals that include opposing racial politics by asking the government to “never again ask American citizens to disclose their race, ethnicity, or skin color, on any government forms,” treating socialism as a foreign enemy, and completing former President Donald Trump’s border wall (and even naming it after Trump.) Another proposal asks children in schools to “say the pledge of allegiance, salute the Flag, learn that America is a great country, and choose the school that best fits them.”

“We won’t stop the woke socialist crowd and turn this country around without a plan,” stated Scott in his opening statement.

Scott railed against what he referred to as the “militant left:”

“[Leftists] are redefining America and silencing their opponents. This could be the beginning of the end of America, but only if we allow it. My plan will be ridiculed by the woke left, mocked by Washington insiders, and strike fear in the heart of some Republicans. Americans deserve to know what we will do when given the chance to govern,” he said.

The senator went on to say that these guidelines will “inspire patriotism and stop teaching the revisionist history of the radical left,” and will help “protect, defend, and promote the American family at all costs,” adding that “men are men, women are women, and unborn babies are babies.”

The following screengrab is from Scott’s plan:

However, Scott was careful to clarify that these were his personal proposals and not the collective product of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which oversees efforts to aid in the re-election of Republican senators and which Scott currently chairs:

“This is my idea on things we ought to be talking about to turn the country around. The country’s in deep trouble. So I’m going to put my ideas out there.”

Scott admitted that he hadn’t discussed this with Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), but says he plans to soon, and agrees with McConnell’s assessment of the election:

“I agree with Mitch McConnell that the election’s mostly going to be about the Biden agenda. But I believe in having plans, and I’m putting this out.”

Scott went on to be relatively coy regarding whether or not he’ll join the GOP leadership in the Senate (apart from the re-election committee he currently chairs,) saying only that “I’ll be one senator selling my ideas.” Scott was also silent on the idea of joining the crowd of 2024 presidential hopefuls.

(FreedomWire.org) – Democrats and teachers unions are working to block bills proposed in at least a dozen states that would require curriculum transparency in schools across the country, arguing that parents’ access to their children’s learning materials online could lead to undue censorship and backlash against educators.

Parents are entitled under federal law to request their children’s curriculum for review if they attend a federally funded school, but schools are not required to post the materials online. Lawmakers in at least 12 states have introduced legislation to require schools to post lists of all their teaching materials online, including books, articles and videos.

A Missouri bill sponsored by Republican state Rep. Doug Richey would do just that, but Democrats say curriculum transparency bills would only further embolden parents to censor certain materials and trainings, like those pertaining to critical race theory (CRT) – a framework that involves deconstructing aspects of society to discover systemic racism beneath the surface.

Richey’s bill, dubbed the Parents’ Bill of Rights, would also require schools to allow parents receive notifications whenever a teacher intends to teach a “divisive or controversial topic” that may conflict with a “parent’s belief that all persons, regardless of race, ethnicity, color, national origin, or ancestry, should be treated equally.”

“Parents have a fundamental right, responsibility and authority when it comes to their children,” Richey said to committee members Tuesday, FOX 2 reported.

Democratic state Rep. Paula Brown, a former teacher, said Richey’s legislation is “setting people up to just be in court.”

“Make no mistake: these bills are an attack on Missouri students,” she said in a statement after the committee hearing. “They have the right to learn in classrooms free from censorship.”

Democratic Rep. Maggie Nurrenbern, another former teacher, said the legislation would be a “Trojan horse to destroy quality education.”

“These laws would create a chilling effect on teachers who would be afraid to teach anything remotely related to banned curriculum,” Nurrenbern said, Fox 2 reported.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sparked criticism last month after tweeting that curriculum transparency bills are just “thinly veiled attempts at chilling teachers and students from learning and talking about race and gender in schools.”

Emerson Sykes, staff attorney in the ACLU Speech, Privacy and Technology Project, reiterated the ACLU’s position to Fox News Digital last week, saying the organization is “actively pursuing litigation to block” curriculum transparency bills.

“Government bodies should always strive for transparency, and the ACLU supports any good-faith effort to make public education as transparent as possible to parents and communities,” Sykes said. “But some of these so-called ‘curriculum transparency bills’ are thinly veiled attempts at chilling teachers and students from learning and talking about race and gender in schools. Their sponsors have said as much.

“For example, in Florida, one lawmaker recently introduced legislation that would allow teachers and children to be constantly recorded and surveilled in the classroom for signs of teaching and learning about ‘divisive concepts’ around race and gender,” Sykes added.

Asra Nomani, vice president for strategy and investigation at Parents Defending Education, blasted the ACLU’s opposition in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“Transparency is key to good governance,” she said. “This applies to our schools especially where our youngest minds are being informed and influenced. Teachers unions, activists and the ACLU are on the wrong side of history as try to block transparency in schools.”

Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis unveiled a parents’ bills of rights last June. Texas’ Republican Gov. Greg Abbott introduced a similar proposal last month.

“Florida law should provide parents with the right to review the curriculum used in their children’s schools,” DeSantis said in his State of the State address last week.

Last year, GOP-controlled legislatures in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania became the first to pass curriculum transparency bills, but both bills were vetoed by Democratic governors, NBC News reported.

Wisconsin’s Democratic Gov. Tony Evers vetoed the classroom transparency act in December, saying it failed to provide the necessary funding needed to implement it. Pennsylvania’s Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf said in his veto message that the legislation was a “thinly veiled attempt” to censor content “reflecting various cultures, identities, and experiences.”

Like Democrats, teachers unions are opposing parents’-bill-of-rights legislation because they say it’ll create more problems and censorship, similar to the push to ban CRT in schools.

“Good schools and good school districts have always had curriculum transparency — including extensive two-way communication between parents and educators on what we are teaching and how to support our kids,” Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers, said in a statement to NBC News. “Pretending otherwise is just the latest attempt by Chris Rufo and others to exploit the frustration of Covid to create a toxic environment where the biggest losers are children and their recovery.”

Weingarten was referring to Christopher Rufo, a fellow at the conservative Manhattan Institute who has been a leading voice in shining a light on left-wing ideologies like CRT being taught in classrooms across the country.

Michigan Department of Education Board Vice President Pamela Pugh, a Democrat, said a curriculum transparency bill introduced by Republican members of the Michigan House on Wednesday aims to disrupt the education system.

“There’s more than meets the eye at the root of these divisive, manufactured, chaotic bills that are being proposed” across the country as part of a national playbook, Pugh told Bridge Michigan. “It’s scare tactics and intimidation meant to cause mass chaos, mass confusion, and disruption to our education system.”

“We’re not the enemy,” Ingrid Fournier, a fifth-grade teacher in Ludington Public Schools, told Bridge. “Where is the trust? Just trust us.”

Unions heavily opposed the Pennsylvania bill that was recently vetoed by Wolf, saying curriculum transparency bills are part of a larger push to ban teaching racism in schools.

“The shameful truth of racism, both historically and today, must be taught. And as a society we must not just teach it, but do all we can to collectively dismantle the systems that have long failed Black and brown people,” Philadelphia Federation of Teachers President Jerry Jordan told Keystone Crossroads in October as the bill advanced through the state legislature. “This bill is far from a benign attempt at increasing curriculum transparency.”

“The last thing students need at this time is further politicization of their education,” Rich Askey, president of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, the state’s largest teachers union, said at the time, Keystone reported.

Ian Prior, executive director of the Virginia parents group Fight For Schools, slammed the left-wing opposition to curriculum transparency in a statement to Fox News Digital on Thursday.

“The far left went from saying that there is no critical race theory or gender identity grooming in schools, to now trying to hide what is going on in schools,” Prior said. “That tells you all one needs to know about what is happening in America’s classrooms.

“Government is supposed to be transparent except in very limited circumstances,” he said. “Parents shouldn’t need a security clearance to see what their children are learning in the schools that the parents pay for with their tax dollars.”

Craig Strazerri, chief marketing officer for PragerU, said in a statement to Fox News Digital: “It’s insane that there is any opposition at all to curriculum transparency in schools – of course parents should be able to review in detail what their children are learning in our schools. What are they hiding?”

A nonprofit group led by former Trump policy adviser Stephen Miller launched a toolkit Wednesday aimed at helping parents understand their rights already granted under federal law in reviewing their child’s school curriculum.

The new guide provided by America First Legal (AFL) highlights provisions in the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment of 1978 (PPRA) that gives parents the right to inspect all learning materials at schools that receive federal funding.

“Part of the problem is that people don’t know about this law,” Miller told Fox News Digital in an interview Tuesday. “They don’t know about their rights enshrined in federal statute, and that’s because teachers unions, the schools, the administrators and teachers themselves don’t want parents to know their rights. And so that’s where we come in.”

“The purpose of this endeavor from America First Legal is to let parents know what their current rights are under federal law – the kind of thing that groups like the ACLU should be doing but aren’t doing because they have fallen prey to a political agenda. They’re no longer in the business of defending civil rights and civil liberties,” he said.
