classified documents

(FreedomWire.org) – Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said on Wednesday that the FBI should search Hunter Biden’s home and business for possible classified documents.

Cruz made the comments during his “Verdict” podcast on Wednesday, which comes after classified documents were found at President Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center and Wilmington, Delaware home.

“It’s not just Joe Biden’s Senate files at the University of Delaware that the FBI needs to search. It’s CRITICAL that the FBI searches Hunter Biden’s home & office locations given the vast evidence of corruption involving Hunter & Joe,” Sen. Cruz tweeted, linking to the latest episode of his “Verdict with Ted Cruz” podcast.

“I think it is critical that the FBI search Hunter Biden’s home and his office locations, given the enormous evidence of corruption involving Hunter Biden and Joe Biden, involving Hunter Biden selling access to Joe Biden when he was vice president, involving Hunter Biden being paid millions of dollars from Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas company, and millions of dollars from companies funded by the Chinese Communist government.

“At the same time that Hunter Biden, we know, was in his father’s Corvette – he has pictures out on the internet, of him driving his father’s Corvette – which was parked, we now know and is admitted, next to classified documents.”

Cruz notes that, without Hunter Biden’s consent, a judge would have to find probable cause in order to issue the FBI a search warrant.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre should be asked “tomorrow” whether Hunter Biden objects to an FBI search of his home and businesses.

Cruz said, “And notice, she wouldn’t even answer if Joe Biden, the sitting president, objects to the search of his own Senate documents. That question needs to be asked. That search needs to happen.”

Cruz concluded, “And, we need to do it now. The FBI doesn’t need to sit on its rear end for days and weeks and months and let someone put those documents in a shredder. They need to show up tomorrow and search Hunter Biden’s home and office – if we care about protecting classified documents and understanding what Joe Biden has done.

“We need to do that immediately.”

(FreedomWire.org) – Former President Barack Obama’s office declined to answer questions about whether it is searching for classified documents at his residences saying, “We have nothing for you at this time.” Documents have now been found in the homes and offices of President Biden, former President Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence.

Hannah Hankins, who is the communications director for Obama, told Fox News Digital that they basically had no comment on the issue. The former president has residences in four different cities that include Washington, DC; Chicago; Martha’s Vineyard; and New York City.

Five batches of classified documents from President Biden have been discovered since November from his time as Obama’s vice president. One batch was located at the Penn Biden Center and four at his Wilmington, Delaware, residence. A special counsel investigation into the matter was launched in January by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

There was a ton of reaction on social media over the possibility of classified material being found in Obama’s possession:

Meanwhile the office of former President George W. Bush said he turned over all classified documents upon leaving the White House.

(FreedomWire.org) – During Monday’s White House press briefing, a handful of members of the White House press corps continued pressing the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre over the fifth batch of classified documents found in President Joe Biden’s home in Delaware and his regime’s lack of transparency over the scandal.

First out of the gate on this topic was a series of spicy barbs thrown by ABC’s Mary Bruce who asked Jean-Pierre: “You have said though from this podium many, many times over the last two weeks that this President takes the handling of classified material very seriously, and yet we continue to learn about more documents being found and discovered at his home.”

Due to those facts, Bruce asked: “Why should the American people believe that this President takes classified material seriously and the handling of it?”

Of course, Jean-Pierre, like all the prior times she’s been asked, had no real answer. “The American people heard from the President directly on this when he was asked by your colleagues at least twice now about how he sees this process,” she mumbled.

“I think as it relates to the American people and the President standing with the American people, it is going to be up to them to decide how they see this President,” she added.

Unphased by Jean-Pierre’s incoherent answers, Bruce followed up: “I want to ask one more time, you have been the one messaging that he takes this seriously. You have also been saying over and over again, you are cooperating fully with this investigation.”

“That hasn’t changed, Mary,” Jean-Pierre interjected.

Bruce then asked, “why did it take several searches and the FBI coming in to uncover the full extent of the documents?”

Jean-Pierre returned to the same tired line she gives each and every time she’s asked about the documents: “the President has said many times he takes this very seriously.”

One moment in the briefing that raised eyebrows was when Jean-Pierre claimed Biden “was surprised that the documents were there” at his home.

Bruce caught that apparent slip-up and spoke truth to power by asking the rhetorical question: “You understand how the American people might question that? Given that you keep–every few days it seems we are finding more documents have been found at his house.”

Later on, it was CBS’s Nancy Cordes’ turn to skewer Jean-Pierre and noted that despite Biden claiming “he takes classified material and the handling of it very seriously. This weekend top Senate Democrats who have known him for decades described this situation as unacceptable and completely irresponsible.” Asking: “What’s the disconnect here?”

Then it was Peter Doocy’s turn to take a swing at Jean-Pierre. First Doocy cut the tension out of the room with a humorous question: “When you found out that the FBI had located even more classified materials in Wilmington, which four-letter word did you use?”

That got a giggle out of her and a “Oh my goodness, Peter!”

After the laughter died down, Doocy asked if Biden “is still intending to run for President in 2024.”

“I’ll just repeat what the President said after the midterm election which is he intends to run,” Jean-Pierre responded.

(FreedomWire.org) – In 1977, the first full year of Carter’s tenure as commander-in-chief, American lawyer Ted Sorensen never got past the Senate confirmation process, largely stemming from his question-and-answer session with Biden, then a U.S. senator from Delaware.

Biden reportedly played an integral role in Carter’s decision to withdraw his selection to lead the CIA, over the apparent mishandling of classified documents.

Sorenson had admitted to taking boxes of classified records home with him after leaving the White House in 1964, and using the materials for his work in writing a biography of former President John F. Kennedy. Sorenson’s admission to this came in affidavits used in cases involving the Pentagon Papers.

At the time, Biden considered the affidavit and joined with Republicans to block Sorenson from being confirmed by the Senate. Biden also suggested Sorenson may have violated the Espionage Act.

Then-Sen. Biden claimed the “real issue” during Sorensen’s confirmation hearing was “whether Mr. Sorensen intentionally took advantage of ambiguities in the law, or carelessly ignored the law.”

“If he did so, can he now bring the activities of the intelligence community within the strict limits of the law?” Biden asked. “We will expect that in the future of intelligence agencies. If that is to be the case, then we must hold the Director — DCI — accountable as well.”

Although Sorensen defended his handling of the classified documents, Carter ultimately withdrew his nomination. Sorensen claimed his “handling of classified information was at all times in accordance with the then-existing laws, regulations and practices,” according to a 1977 Washington Post report.

Biden’s role in tanking Sorensen’s nomination resurfaced this month after Biden found himself in a scandal stemming from his own handling of classified government documents.

Multiple stashes of classified documents were found in two separate locations, including the Penn Biden Center in Washington, DC, and the garage of his Wilmington, DE, home.

(FreedomWire.org) – The White House and Justice Department (DOJ) reportedly agreed to hide President Joe Biden’s classified document scandal from the American people until it leaked to the press, despite their repeated claims of transparency.

Not only did the White House and DOJ try to obscure the scandal from public view, but they also refused to divulge that the second trove of classified documents were already unearthed at Biden’s home in Wilmington when CBS News first contacted the White House about the initial leak of classified documents apparently illegally stored at the Biden Penn Center, according to the Washington Post: “Early on, Biden’s attorneys and Justice Department investigators both thought they had a shared understanding about keeping the matter quiet,” the Post admitted, noting the Biden administration’s attempt to conceal revelations of the second trove of stashed documents.

“CBS News was the first news organization to learn of the matter, contacting the White House on Jan. 6 to ask about the Penn Biden Center documents,” the report continued. “White House officials confirmed the scoop, but since the investigation was ongoing, they decided not to offer any additional details — including the critical information that a second batch of documents had been discovered at Biden’s home.”

That the Biden administration tried to conceal the scandal contradicts their claims of transparency.

“There was transparency in doing what you’re supposed to do when these items were discovered,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre falsely claimed on January 12.

Since the Justice Department appointed a special prosecutor, the White House has provided little transparency. “I’m just going to continue to be prudent here. I’m going to let this ongoing review that is happening — this legal process that is happening — let that process continue under the special counsel. We’re not — I’m not — going to comment from here,” Jean-Pierre said Tuesday.

“Look, guys, you guys can ask me this 100 times, 200 times, if you wish. I’m going to keep saying the same thing,” she added. “I hear your question. It’s been asked. It’s been answered. It’s been noted.”

Critics have questioned why Biden’s personal attorneys were initially searching for Biden’s illegally stashed documents. The White House has failed to provide the initial reason or cause for the search.

(FreedomWire.org) – Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera is in hot water again with critics, this time over a hot take he posted to Twitter suggesting that the new Republican House majority was focused on the wrong thing, an investigation into President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden over past business dealings.

“Appointing a Special Counsel to investigate President Biden is as lame as it was to raid & relentlessly probe President Trump. Scold both of them. Revoke their library cards. Then, for the good of the country, move on. This case has 0 impact on the American people,” he wrote on the platform on Friday.

Also, Rivera was critical of the appointment of special counsels for both Presidents Biden and Trump regarding their possession of highly classified documents, perhaps in violation of federal law, at least in Biden’s case.

Republicans are demanding answers on the lack of transparency on visitor logs from President Joe Biden’s Delaware home. This comes as classified documents were discovered in Biden’s Wilmington garage as well as his think tank.

“There are no visitor logs for President Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, the White House Counsel’s office said in a Monday statement. Republicans on Capitol Hill demanded the visitor logs this weekend following revelations that Biden’s lawyers had discovered a stash of classified documents inside the home’s garage. While it is common practice to keep comprehensive visitor logs at the White House, Biden’s lawyers say no such record exists for his home in Delaware,” Fox News reported.

“Like every President in decades of modern history, his personal residence is personal,” the White House Counsel’s office told Fox News. “But upon taking office, President Biden restored the norm and tradition of keeping White House visitors logs, including publishing them regularly, after the previous administration ended them.”

The U.S. Secret Service revealed on Sunday that while a protection unit is assigned to Biden’s Delaware home, they do not record visitors.

“We don’t independently maintain our own visitor logs because it’s a private residence,” spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told reporters.

Republican Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, is demanding logs as well as additional answers.

“Given the serious national security implications, the White House must provide the Wilmington residence’s visitor log,” Comer wrote to White House chief of staff Ron Klain. “As Chief of Staff, you are head of the Executive Office of the President and bear responsibility to be transparent with the American people on these important issues related to the White House’s handling of this matter.”

(FreedomWire.org) – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer lost his cool on Friday when discussing President Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal.

During an interview on “CNN This Morning,” Schumer took offense when CNN co-hosts Don Lemon, Kaitlan Collins, and Poppy Harlow of “wanting to buzz around” about Biden having classified documents in multiple locations. Schumer began irritated after CNN played a supercut of lawmakers attacking former President Donald Trump following the raid at Mar-a-Lago over documents.

Schumer defended his own reactions as “entirely consistent,” claiming he withheld comment immediately following the Mar-a-Lago raid. Things got tense after Schumer tried to wave off Lemon and dismiss his questions about where Democrats stand on the Biden scandal.

POPPY HARLOW: So you said the president is fully cooperated and there’s no indication that he and the White House have not. But there is a real question about transparency and what the American people deserve. Let me just let.

SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER: The prosecutors will get to the bottom of this and let’s let them do it, for God’s sakes!

POPPY HARLOW: I hear you!

SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER: I know you all want to buzz around and all of that, but bottom line is…

POPPY HARLOW: But let me let me buzz for a minute. Let me let me buzz for one minute. And I promise we’ll get on to something else…

DON LEMON: It’s not just, hold on, it’s not just us buzzing around. You’re the Democratic head of the Senate. This is a really important issue. It’s not just buzzing around. This is serious stuff.

SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER: And if there were no special prosecutor, there would be you know, you might have a different thing to say, but there is. And now we have the law enforcement people who have the power to get all the facts out doing it. I support both. I think we should have a special prosecutor on each. I don’t mind your asking these questions, but my view is I’m not going to say anything. Let the special prosecutors do their job.

POPPY HARLOW: The question I was going to ask is about the fact that when when this did come out after CBS News’s reporting and the White House came out and acknowledged it, they only addressed the documents found on November 2nd. But they knew at the time about the documents found on December 20th. And that’s what begs the question of full transparency. And it’s not just us. The Washington Post editorial board, you know, this morning says the same thing, that if the president and this White House answered more questions directly, like that exact timeline that would, quote, promote trust and preempt this criticism, would you like to see the White House do that today?

SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER: I leave everything up to the special prosecutors. Their obligation legally was to report things to the archives the minute they discovered them. Unlike Trump, they did.
