(FreedomWire.org) – Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) completely destroyed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during a hearing on Tuesday over the Biden administration’s ongoing crisis on the U.S. southern border.

Cruz didn’t go easy on Mayorkas after getting him to admit that the U.S. saw its lowest level of encounters on the southern border in 2020.

“Let’s look at CBP encounters … it drops to the lowest level. Then boom, what happens? You show up!” Cruz said. “And that red line is you! That red line is Joe Biden! And you’re claiming nothing happened, oh gosh, this was here before us. No! You made the decision to allow this!”

Cruz also got Mayorkas to admit that he had no idea how many migrants have died trying to get through the southern border in 2022.

“Of course you don’t! I know how many died, 853!” Cruz fired back. “You go back to 1998, you see it’s consistently between 300 to 400… Suddenly 2021. What happens? You get in office!”

Cruz later enraged Mayorkas after demanding that Mayorkas resign from his job over how poorly the Biden administration has handled the crisis.

“Mr. Secretary, I want to say to you right now, your behavior is disgraceful. And the deaths, the children assaulted, the children raped, they are at your feet,” Cruz said. “And if you had integrity, you would resign.”

“The men and women of the Border Patrol, they’ve never had a political leader undermine them,” Cruz continued. “They despise you, Mr. Secretary, because you’re willing to let children be raped to follow political orders. This is a crisis. It’s a disgrace. And you won’t even admit this human tragedy as it is crisis.”

Mayorkas responded by saying he would not “address” Cruz’s remarks because he found them to be “revolting.”

“Your refusal to do your job is revolting!” Cruz fired back.

Another highlight from the hearing showed Mayorkas repeatedly dodging Cruz’s question of whether there was a crisis at the southern border.

“1 word. 1 syllable. 3 letters,” Cruz said. “That’s how someone answers a question & does their job. You’re being a politician misleading the American people.”

(FreedomWire.org) – Congressional Democrats of the Homeland Security Committee did not join a hearing that was held in McAllen, Texas on Wednesday where U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz  testified.

The Republican leadership of the committee sharply criticized the decision in statements released Monday.

“It’s deeply disappointing that the Minority members of the Committee have chosen to bail on this week’s full committee field hearing in Texas, only after they invited and confirmed a minority witness for one of the panels,” Committee chairman Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee told Fox News in a statement.

Green added, “the only message their absence sends is that they are uninterested in coming to the table to have a conversation about the devastation that this border crisis is having on Americans and their communities across the country. We will continue to encourage our Democrat colleagues to get out of the DC echo chamber and meet Americans where they are to discuss the biggest issues facing them.”

Ranking Democrat Member Bennie Thompson of Mississippi retorted with several demonstrably false claims. He complained, “it has become clear that Republicans planned to politicize this event from the start.”

During the hearing, U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz testified that his agency does not have “operational control” over the nation’s borders after months of a record surge in migration.

When Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) asked Ortiz during a congressional hearing if the Department of Homeland Security has “operational control of our entire border,” Ortiz replied, “No, sir.”

Mayorkas said during a hearing in April that “we do” have operational control over the entire U.S. border.

In both instances, Ortiz and Mayorkas were shown the U.S. government’s technical definition of “operational control,” which “means the prevention of all unlawful entries into the United States.”

The diverging answers from the nation’s top border officials comes amid record migration across the southern border, with Customs and Border Protection reporting migrant encounters at rates not seen in 20 years, as reported by Pew Research Center.

Pressed by Green to answer for the border situation, Ortiz stood by the work of border agents and said they are facing significant challenges.

“I have confidence in the men and women that are executing the mission out there to the best of their ability,” Ortiz said. “We have seen an increase in flow, and that has caused a considerable strain on our resources.”

(FreedomWire.org) – The Biden Department of Homeland Security has begun prepping for a potential impeachment battle over HHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

“The Department of Homeland Security has retained outside counsel to help ensure the Department’s vital mission is not interrupted by the unprecedented, unjustified, and partisan impeachment efforts by some Members of Congress, who have already taken steps to initiate proceedings,” a Homeland Security spokesperson told CNN.

“DHS will continue prioritizing its work to protect our country from terrorism, respond to natural disasters, and secure our borders while responding appropriately to the over 70 Congressional committees and subcommittees that have oversight of DHS,” the spokesperson added.

HHS was correct to note that there have been burgeoning “impeachment efforts” against Mayorkas.

But HHS was not correct to call the efforts “unprecedented, unjustified, and partisan,” according to Republicans.

For one thing, Democrats previously impeached former President Donald Trump twice, both times for flimsy reasons that led to no conviction. Note also that under his administration, the border was secure and border crossings fell to a record low rate.

Under this administration and under Mayorkas, more specifically, the border has been completely overrun, with 100,0000+ illegal aliens and so-called “migrants” crossing into the U.S. in any given month, including January.

So many migrants are flooding border communities that said communities have been forced to ship the illegals to northern “utopias” like New York City.

This, in turn, has greatly strained NYC’s resources, as the city has had to convert hotel after hotel into shelters for these hordes of migrants, including single migrant men.

Yet Democrats, including NYC Mayor Eric Adams, remain loyally supportive of the administration, despite its clear-cut failure to secure the border.

As for the Border Patrol agents who actually have to deal with all the hordes of migrants firsthand, they staunchly oppose this administration’s policies.

“Today, thousands of illegal aliens will crash the border and either escape or be released into a community near you. Most aren’t properly vetted. They will be ‘vetted’ based on their actions and behaviors in your community. And if they commit another crime it’s likely the kid gloves will come out and they’ll be coddled and protected. It’s insanity. Think about it,” the official U.S. Border Patrol union tweeted Saturday.

Whether the law firm will be able to prevent the hell awaiting Mayorkas remains to be seen. What’s known is that “House Republicans are really starting to build a case against Alejandro Mayorkas, the Homeland Security Secretary which could serve as the basis for potential impeachment proceedings,” as reported by CNN last month.

In addition, a total of three committees have thus far vowed to hold hearings on the border crisis, including the House Judiciary Committee, the House Oversight Committee, and the House Homeland Security Committee.

(FreedomWire) – Kamala Harris gave an interview with MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd  that aired during Sunday mornings’ broadcast of “Meet the Press,” and she claimed that the immigration system was broken but that the border was secure.

Todd broached the topic as the wide-ranging interview came to a close, saying, “Final topic here. We’re here in Texas, I want to ask you about the border. Would you call the border secure?”

“I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do. The first request we made, pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship,” Harris began before answering the question directly. “The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.”

“We’re gonna have 2 million people cross this border for the first time ever. You’re confident this border is secure?” Todd challenged.

“We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration,” Harris continued, pivoting then to attempt to blame the present situation on former President Donald Trump. “But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix. Given the deterioration that happened over the last four years.”

Harris concluded by once again calling for a “pathway for citizenship” and arguing that the only reason that had not yet been done was that the leadership in border states — which happens to be primarily Republican — was “playing politics” with people’s lives.

“We also have to put in place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship. We don’t have that in place because people are playing politics in a state like this [Texas] and in Congress — by the way, you want to talk about bipartisanship, on an issue that at one time was a bipartisan issue. Both in terms of Republican senators and even presidents.”

The number of migrant encounters at the southern border has smashed through the two-million mark this fiscal year, breaching the already-historic 1.7 million encounters last year, as Border Patrol agents deal with a migrant crisis unprecedented in U.S. history and one that the Biden administration has so far failed to slow.

Officials estimated in July that more than 500,000 illegals were known to have slipped past agents in FY22 so far but have been detected by cameras or other sensors. There have been about 55,000 so-called “gotaways” each month this fiscal year, and that number doesn’t include the individuals who have not been detected by technology.

The number is also in addition to the 389,155 known gotaways that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas previously testified there were in all of FY21.

(FreedomWire.org) – On Friday, the Biden administration admitted the accusations against border patrol agents of “whipping” Haitian migrants were false.

However, the administration acknowledged that the four agents accused of the incident, which went viral, would still be referred for disciplinary action.

The 511-page report, written by US Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Personal Responsibility, detailed that there was “no evidence that [Border Patrol agents] involved in this incident struck, intentionally or otherwise, any migrant with their reins.”

But the remarks in the report are a stark contrast to the claims made by President Joe Biden following the alleged September 19 attack. After the attack, Biden repeated false assertions by liberal activists that agents used their reins to whip the helpless migrants as they were fleeing.

At the time, Biden said that seeing “people treated like they did … people being strapped — it’s outrageous,” the President then vowed that “those people will pay.”

Despite questions being raised about the alleged assault, the disciplinary action taken against the agents could range from a letter of reprimand to termination.

This disciplinary action seemingly stems from Biden’s comments; because, rather than apologize for making false accusations, Biden pushed for Customs and Border Protection officials to be investigated, a move Border Patrol Union Chief, Brandon Judd, described as a “political hit job.”

Judd also indicated — prior to the report being released — that Biden’s comments on the matter “made this the spectacle it’s become,” adding that if Biden had waited on the report, rather than “passing judgment before the facts,” the matter wouldn’t still be as newsworthy.

Despite his advice to the President, Judd revealed that the union would fight any sanction down “until avenues are exhausted” as part of the union’s interest in achieving “complete exoneration.”

(FreedomWire.org) – While appearing on Jesse Watters Primetime last Friday, Border Patrol union chief Brandon Judd stated the Biden administration isn’t punishing illegal border crossings.

Judd said,  “First thing I would do is, I would re-implement the Migrant Protection Protocols, but even if he chose not to do that, he could operate within his parameters. Stop the catch-and-release, hold people in our custody here in the United States pending their deportation or asylum proceedings. If he did that, people would stop coming. Again, it’s like a light switch. They will not give the cartels thousands of dollars to be smuggled to the United States if they know they’re going to go back. The only people that are benefiting from this are illegal border-crossers, the drug smugglers and the cartels. They’re generating billions of dollars … it is policy that is allowing these people to generate the billions of dollars.”

DHS officials, including Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, have been grilled by Republican lawmakers as the leadership within DHS continues to deny responsibility for the historic increase in illegal border crossings and drugs being smuggled into the United States.

“By the way What would you call what’s happening at the border? Is it a crisis?” Hawley asked.

“I believe we’re facing significant challenges at the border, sir,” Neto replied.

“Challenges. Is it a problem?” Hawley followed up.

“I think there are parts of the border where we have seen particularly problematic flows,” said Neto.

(FreedomWire.org) – White House press secretary Jen Psaki refused to address reports showing the agents involved with the accusations were cleared of criminal wrongdoing, despite accusations from President Joe Biden and other administration officials that they were guilty of whipping or “strapping” the migrants.

The allegations against the agents occurred on September 19, 2021, near a makeshift outdoor encampment holding roughly 15,000 mostly Haitian migrants at the time. Video and photographs taken by freelance journalist Paul Ratje were widely circulated and sparked initial claims that agents were “whipping” migrants.

Further examination led many to concede the images showed Border Patrol agents using long reins to control the horses. The photographer who captured the incident also denied witnessing the agents’ using whips.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas famously said the investigation would take only “days,” not weeks.

The tedious investigation involved the horse-mounted border patrol agents in question getting removed from active duty.

Biden famously berated the border agents during a speech after the images went viral.

“It was horrible to see what you saw, to see people treated like they did,” Biden said last week. “Horses running them over, people being strapped. It’s outrageous. I promise you those people will pay.”

Psaki herself accused the agents of “brutal and inappropriate” behavior after activists and public figures criticized them for following orders and enforcing the law.

Nothing Biden said was true. The agents did nothing wrong and after being hung out to dry for  six months, they’ve been cleared.

Despite the results of the investigation, Psaki repeatedly insisted that the process was not concluded.

“There is a process and an investigation,” she told reporters during the daily briefing on Monday and added, “I’m sure we’ll have a comment on it after that.”

Now The National Border Patrol Council is blasting the White House and President Joe Biden after Press Secretary Jen Psaki refused to revoke smears against mounted agents during Monday’s briefing.

Democrats keep telling us we don’t need strong borders. But while President Trump has repeatedly been called “racist” for wanting to improve our border security, the men and women keeping America safe once again showed us that they are needed — by snagging a massive amount of methamphetamine intended for sale within our borders.

The bust came after Customs and Border Patrol inspected a tractor-trailer the driver says was carrying medical supplies. Instead, they found more than 3,000 pounds of meth, 64 pounds of heroin, 29 pounds of fentanyl, and 37 pounds of fentanyl pills. While some were technically medical supplies, it’s clear that none of them would be used medicinally. The drugs were found after an imaging system used by border agents detected some abnormalities. A K-9-assisted search of the car turned up the drugs. The drugs are worth an estimated $7.2 million.

Border Patrol uncovered a massive stash of drugs being smuggled into the country.

“Smugglers will try every way possible to try and get their product across the border and because of the partnership between CBP, Homeland Security investigations and DEA this significant seizure occurred and we stopped them,” says San Diego acting CBP director of field operations Anne Maricich.“I’m proud of the CBP officers’ dedication to our mission; they continue to stop dangerous drugs from entering our communities.”

The driver of the vehicle was a Mexican citizen, who was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Though liberals claim that Mexican drug dealers are not bringing poison into our country, this latest incident proves that not only is it happening — but it’s a major problem.

Our border patrol is the first line of defense against dangerous people and drugs making their way into the country. While Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the Democrat Party wants to weaken our borders, this shows the danger of their open borders policies. President Trump will continue to protect us, so be sure to vote on November 3.
