(FreedomWire.org) – Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana got it right: Over the past two years, President Joe Biden stalled domestic energy production, begged Saudi Arabia to send more oil to America and drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve — all in his effort to lower gas prices in advance of the 2022 election.

It’s at the point where the national oil reserve created in 1975 to be available in the event of a national emergency is becoming its own emergency.

Under the Biden administration, the midterm election and spiking gasoline prices created a political crisis for Democrats, one that the president solved by draining 42% of what was in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve when he took office.

Biden abused the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, says Rep. Stephanie Brice of Oklahoma. The 638 million barrels of emergency oil in January of 2021 is down to 371 million barrels in January of 2023.

How much is that in real terms? 371 million barrels is not much more than one barrel per American, which will make enough gasoline to power your car for 280 miles, give or take a hill.

Biden said just before the November election that the administration would, after 18 months of draining the reserve, begin to refill it in the first quarter of 2023. The Department of Energy put out contracts to buy three million barrels of oil from producers at a price between $70-$78 a barrel. It was not much, but it was a start of less than 1%.

The bidding period closed in late December and bids were to be reviewed and awarded on Jan. 13, with deliveries expected to be poured back into Big Hill Strategic Petroleum Reserve in Beaumont, Texas, in February.

It would restore less than 1% of what has been removed from the emergency supply by the administration, but it was a start.

Quietly in January, the Department of Energy decided it did not have any acceptable bids, and simply awarded no bids, without an explanation. There will be no three million barrels put back into the SPR this round and the Department of Energy has clammed up about it.

Reasonable people ask why. While DOE won’t say so, producers don’t think $70 is an attractive price, when all signals point to oil being priced on the exchanges in the $80-$95 range for the foreseeable future. Crude oil prices surged to their highest in seven weeks earlier this week.

House Resolution 21, the Strategic Production Response Act, would put side rails on the Department of Energy by prohibiting the release of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve for political purposes. At this point, it appears H.R. 21 is going to get Christmas-treed with as many as 100 amendments and it may lose its momentum or get killed altogether.

The president has vowed to veto the bill in the unlikely event it makes its way to his desk. “He will not allow the American people to suffer because of the backwards agenda that House Republicans are advancing,” said Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in a White House briefing. H.R. 21, she said, “risks raising these gas prices and making it harder to offer Americans relief in the future.”

Biden wants Americans to believe he has lowered gas prices. Here are the facts: In 2021, gas averaged $3.01 a gallon. Today, gas in America averages $3.50, a nearly 17% increase.

Time is marching on for this president. It’s year three of his first term. He promised he’d put oil back in the SPR, and now he cannot deliver on that promise.

While his policies continue to suppress domestic energy production, and demand around the world is exceeding supply, the president has made the nation a less secure place because he traded our national security for power — his own political power.

(FreedomWire.org) – During a Town Hall on Thursday in Virginia, Joe Biden appeared to suffer another dementia-induced outburst giving a gaffe-filled speech about the economy.

“Talk about being deprived of your pride!,” Biden shouted, clenching his teeth and shaking his fist. “LOOK AT YOUR CHILD. CHILD! You know needs it! And you can’t afford it!”, Biden exclaimed, making zero sense whatsoever.

This wasn’t the only head-scratching moment of the speech for Joe. He also falsely claimed that we’re not in a recession and that the economy is fine.

“They’ve been telling me since I got elected there gonna be in a recession. EVERY time we’ve gone, we’ve gotten better.”

At another point in the speech, Biden told the audience that he will Veto any bill that Republicans send to his desk. “Not on my watch, I will veto everything they send us,” he said.

Then later, he went on another bizarre rant where he repeated himself on several occasions.

“We’re the United States of America. And nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing is beyond our capacity…We’ve never failed to accomplish a goal we’ve set. Never. Never Never!”.

Perhaps the most cringy moment of the speech was when Biden called Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) by the name “Doug” four times.

“Where’s Doug? Congressman?” the 80-year-old president asked while giving a speech on the economy.

“He’s around here somewhere,” Biden said as he searched the crowd. “Oh, there you are. Doug, thanks for the passport into town. Doug and I have something in common, we both married way above our station.”

(FreedomWire.org) – Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) stumped a Biden judicial nominee by asking her what it said in certain parts of the U.S. Constitution since she is being considered for a federal position.

Judge Charnelle Bjelkengren, of Spokane County Superior Court in Washington State, was nominated by President Biden to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. During her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Bjelkengren could not answer Kennedy’s questions about what different parts of the U.S. Constitution do and how courts might interpret laws.

Each of the three questions Kennedy posed, Judge Charnelle Bjelkengren did not have an answer.

“Judge, tell me what Article V of the Constitution does?” Kennedy asked.

“Article V is not coming to mind at the moment,” Bjelkengren replied after a long pause.

“How about Article II?” Kennedy followed up.

“Neither is Article II,” said Bjelkengren.

Article V of the Constitution concerns the amendments process, and Article II invests the executive power in the president of the United States, enumerating the powers of the executive branch.

Next, Kennedy asked if Bjelkengren knew what “purposivism” is, but she was again unable to give an answer. Purposivism, or the purposive approach, is a philosophy of interpreting the law that emphasizes the law’s purpose — advocating for judges to enforce the spirit of the law when it contradicts with the text of the law, according to Harvard Law professor John F. Manning, writing in the Columbia Law Review. In contrast, textualists argue that judges must strictly adhere to the law’s enacted text, when it is clear.

Bjelkengren said in her many years of experience in the judicial system in Washington state, she never had to deal with the legal concept of purposivism.

Kennedy did not seem impressed. “Well, you’re going to be faced with it if you’re confirmed, I can assure you of that,” he said.

Bjelkengren is a graduate of Mankato State University and received her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2000. She previously served as an assistant attorney general for the Washington Attorney General’s Office.

(FreedomWire.org) – Former President Barack Obama’s office declined to answer questions about whether it is searching for classified documents at his residences saying, “We have nothing for you at this time.” Documents have now been found in the homes and offices of President Biden, former President Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence.

Hannah Hankins, who is the communications director for Obama, told Fox News Digital that they basically had no comment on the issue. The former president has residences in four different cities that include Washington, DC; Chicago; Martha’s Vineyard; and New York City.

Five batches of classified documents from President Biden have been discovered since November from his time as Obama’s vice president. One batch was located at the Penn Biden Center and four at his Wilmington, Delaware, residence. A special counsel investigation into the matter was launched in January by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

There was a ton of reaction on social media over the possibility of classified material being found in Obama’s possession:

Meanwhile the office of former President George W. Bush said he turned over all classified documents upon leaving the White House.

(FreedomWire.org) – During Monday’s White House press briefing, a handful of members of the White House press corps continued pressing the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre over the fifth batch of classified documents found in President Joe Biden’s home in Delaware and his regime’s lack of transparency over the scandal.

First out of the gate on this topic was a series of spicy barbs thrown by ABC’s Mary Bruce who asked Jean-Pierre: “You have said though from this podium many, many times over the last two weeks that this President takes the handling of classified material very seriously, and yet we continue to learn about more documents being found and discovered at his home.”

Due to those facts, Bruce asked: “Why should the American people believe that this President takes classified material seriously and the handling of it?”

Of course, Jean-Pierre, like all the prior times she’s been asked, had no real answer. “The American people heard from the President directly on this when he was asked by your colleagues at least twice now about how he sees this process,” she mumbled.

“I think as it relates to the American people and the President standing with the American people, it is going to be up to them to decide how they see this President,” she added.

Unphased by Jean-Pierre’s incoherent answers, Bruce followed up: “I want to ask one more time, you have been the one messaging that he takes this seriously. You have also been saying over and over again, you are cooperating fully with this investigation.”

“That hasn’t changed, Mary,” Jean-Pierre interjected.

Bruce then asked, “why did it take several searches and the FBI coming in to uncover the full extent of the documents?”

Jean-Pierre returned to the same tired line she gives each and every time she’s asked about the documents: “the President has said many times he takes this very seriously.”

One moment in the briefing that raised eyebrows was when Jean-Pierre claimed Biden “was surprised that the documents were there” at his home.

Bruce caught that apparent slip-up and spoke truth to power by asking the rhetorical question: “You understand how the American people might question that? Given that you keep–every few days it seems we are finding more documents have been found at his house.”

Later on, it was CBS’s Nancy Cordes’ turn to skewer Jean-Pierre and noted that despite Biden claiming “he takes classified material and the handling of it very seriously. This weekend top Senate Democrats who have known him for decades described this situation as unacceptable and completely irresponsible.” Asking: “What’s the disconnect here?”

Then it was Peter Doocy’s turn to take a swing at Jean-Pierre. First Doocy cut the tension out of the room with a humorous question: “When you found out that the FBI had located even more classified materials in Wilmington, which four-letter word did you use?”

That got a giggle out of her and a “Oh my goodness, Peter!”

After the laughter died down, Doocy asked if Biden “is still intending to run for President in 2024.”

“I’ll just repeat what the President said after the midterm election which is he intends to run,” Jean-Pierre responded.

(FreedomWire.org) – Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm claimed Monday that “international and climate events” were to blame for price increases at the pump.

“It’s obviously based upon international and climate events, so, for example, Winter Storm Elliot pulled two million barrels off the U.S. market,” Granholm said during a White House press briefing. “That crimp in supply causes prices to go up.”

The average price of a gallon of gas is $3.423, up from $3.096 a month ago, according to AAA. Biden has taken credit for lower gas prices in the past, even though a gallon of gas cost an average of $2.1218 on Nov. 3, 2020.

Biden and the White House have often called increased gas prices the “Putin price hike,” but some experts have said Biden’s hostility to fossil fuel production has fueled higher gas prices. The Biden administration revoked the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline in January 2021 and cancelled an offshore lease sale in May after issuing new regulations for onshore drilling for oil and natural gas.

Biden authorized the sale of up to 180 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) in March, following Russia’s Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine. The reserve is down to its lowest level since the 1980s, Forbes reported.

“Biden and Secretary Granholm have created an energy crisis by crippling American energy, sending U.S. jobs overseas, and depleting our SPR,” Senate Republicans said in a release.

The Strategic Production Response Act was introduced in the House earlier this month. It would require the Energy Department to develop a plan to increase the percentage of federal areas leased for gas and oil production before releasing oil from the reserve.

Granholm said President Biden will veto a House bill regulating U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve withdrawals.

Granholm said that such proposals risk raising gas prices and are “simply nonstarters,” according to the official White House transcript.

“So I’ll be very clear: If Congress were to pass H.R. 21 (the Strategic Production Response Act), the president would veto it. He will not allow the American people to suffer because of the backwards agenda that House Republicans are advancing.”

(FreedomWire.org) – Republicans on the House Oversight Committee are looking for answers from DHS over allegations that President Biden’s recent visit to El Paso, Texas, was “sanitized,” with migrants cleared away before the president’s first visit to the besieged southern border this month.

“For weeks, large encampments of homeless illegal border crossers—released by the Biden Administration—have encamped on the streets of El Paso,” the letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas from House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said. “These encampments were cleared immediately prior to President Biden’s visit to the city on January 8, 2023. We write to understand the circumstances surrounding the role DHS played in clearing homeless illegal border crossers for President Biden’s visit to El Paso.”

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources told Fox News that the Central Processing Center, which was previously overwhelmed with immigrants, was no longer at capacity and the camps of migrants vanished.

Sources had told Fox that the clearing was primarily to address large groups of mostly Venezuelan migrants who crossed into the U.S. without turning themselves into the Border Patrol out of fear that Title 42 rules would get them expelled.

Since the migrants could not get into shelters, they set up camps and the crime rate increased, with many Venezuelans getting arrested for breaking into cars. Community members complained, according to CBP sources, and Border Patrol agents started making arrests.

Biden’s visit also combined with a sharp drop in migrant encounters. The El Paso sector saw an average of

But Comer is not yet convinced and are asking for documents and communications between DHS and other agencies, as well as the city of El Paso.

“Before the President’s visit, El Paso’s migrant camps were so overwhelmed and unsanitary that local officials were concerned that the camps would become hotbeds for infectious disease,” Comer writes. “The President apparently did not see a single released illegal alien in a border town overwhelmed with illegal border crossers released by his Administration.”

Comer on Thursday announced that the committee will hold a hearing on the border in early February, and has called on a handful of Biden administration career officials to testify, including Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agents Jason Owens, Gregory Bovino and Gloria Chavez and Acting Chief Border Patrol Agent Patricia McGurk-Daniel.

(FreedomWire.org) – In 1977, the first full year of Carter’s tenure as commander-in-chief, American lawyer Ted Sorensen never got past the Senate confirmation process, largely stemming from his question-and-answer session with Biden, then a U.S. senator from Delaware.

Biden reportedly played an integral role in Carter’s decision to withdraw his selection to lead the CIA, over the apparent mishandling of classified documents.

Sorenson had admitted to taking boxes of classified records home with him after leaving the White House in 1964, and using the materials for his work in writing a biography of former President John F. Kennedy. Sorenson’s admission to this came in affidavits used in cases involving the Pentagon Papers.

At the time, Biden considered the affidavit and joined with Republicans to block Sorenson from being confirmed by the Senate. Biden also suggested Sorenson may have violated the Espionage Act.

Then-Sen. Biden claimed the “real issue” during Sorensen’s confirmation hearing was “whether Mr. Sorensen intentionally took advantage of ambiguities in the law, or carelessly ignored the law.”

“If he did so, can he now bring the activities of the intelligence community within the strict limits of the law?” Biden asked. “We will expect that in the future of intelligence agencies. If that is to be the case, then we must hold the Director — DCI — accountable as well.”

Although Sorensen defended his handling of the classified documents, Carter ultimately withdrew his nomination. Sorensen claimed his “handling of classified information was at all times in accordance with the then-existing laws, regulations and practices,” according to a 1977 Washington Post report.

Biden’s role in tanking Sorensen’s nomination resurfaced this month after Biden found himself in a scandal stemming from his own handling of classified government documents.

Multiple stashes of classified documents were found in two separate locations, including the Penn Biden Center in Washington, DC, and the garage of his Wilmington, DE, home.

(FreedomWire.org) – The White House and Justice Department (DOJ) reportedly agreed to hide President Joe Biden’s classified document scandal from the American people until it leaked to the press, despite their repeated claims of transparency.

Not only did the White House and DOJ try to obscure the scandal from public view, but they also refused to divulge that the second trove of classified documents were already unearthed at Biden’s home in Wilmington when CBS News first contacted the White House about the initial leak of classified documents apparently illegally stored at the Biden Penn Center, according to the Washington Post: “Early on, Biden’s attorneys and Justice Department investigators both thought they had a shared understanding about keeping the matter quiet,” the Post admitted, noting the Biden administration’s attempt to conceal revelations of the second trove of stashed documents.

“CBS News was the first news organization to learn of the matter, contacting the White House on Jan. 6 to ask about the Penn Biden Center documents,” the report continued. “White House officials confirmed the scoop, but since the investigation was ongoing, they decided not to offer any additional details — including the critical information that a second batch of documents had been discovered at Biden’s home.”

That the Biden administration tried to conceal the scandal contradicts their claims of transparency.

“There was transparency in doing what you’re supposed to do when these items were discovered,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre falsely claimed on January 12.

Since the Justice Department appointed a special prosecutor, the White House has provided little transparency. “I’m just going to continue to be prudent here. I’m going to let this ongoing review that is happening — this legal process that is happening — let that process continue under the special counsel. We’re not — I’m not — going to comment from here,” Jean-Pierre said Tuesday.

“Look, guys, you guys can ask me this 100 times, 200 times, if you wish. I’m going to keep saying the same thing,” she added. “I hear your question. It’s been asked. It’s been answered. It’s been noted.”

Critics have questioned why Biden’s personal attorneys were initially searching for Biden’s illegally stashed documents. The White House has failed to provide the initial reason or cause for the search.

(FreedomWire.org) – It was recently discovered that Hunter Biden paid nearly $59K per month in rent while living at Joe Biden’s Delaware house. However, Joe Biden did not report this rental income on his taxes.

This was observed by Wendell Husebo on Twitter:

On the Schedule E portion of his 2017 tax forms, Joe Biden reported $19,800 in “rents received,” and none in 2018, according to information reported on Sunday by Breitbart’s Wendell Husebø.

But when filling out a background check, Hunter Biden claimed to pay a specific $49,910 rent each month to his dad from March 2017 to February 2018. This is the same home where classified documents were recently found stacked in the garage. Hunter spent about a year, during part of his drugged-out times, renting Joe Biden’s Wilmington, Del., home following his divorce from Kathleen Biden.

Kathleen filed for divorce after learning that (among other women, including an Arkansas stripper who gave birth to Hunter’s unacknowledged daughter in 2018) Hunter was having an affair with his dead brother Beau’s widow, Hallie.

Husebo also followed up with this shocker:

President Donald Trump weighed in on Tuesday with his thoughts about Hunter Biden’s purported $49,910 rental fee allegedly paid to his father at the Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware, residence.

“Was Joe Biden really paid $50,000 a month by Hunter for a house that’s worth comparatively very little,” Trump wrote. “Who actually owns the house? This is just the beginning of one of the greatest political and money laundering Scams of all time.”

President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., commented on Hunter’s sky-high rent price on Twitter, “Hunter had no problem paying $50,000.00/month in rent to his dad but he had a hard time paying child support? What a lowlife.”

Conservative filmmaker and author Dinesh D’Souza further lent his opinion to the conversation surrounding the Bidens’ Wilmington residence, pointing out, “No one – and I mean no one – pays $49,000 in monthly rent for a house valued at under $2 million. If Hunter Biden paid this, it means he was funneling China revenue from his ‘bag man’ deals back to the head of the Biden family. This seems part of how the Big Guy collected his 10%.”
