(FreedomWire.org) – During Monday’s White House press briefing, a handful of members of the White House press corps continued pressing the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre over the fifth batch of classified documents found in President Joe Biden’s home in Delaware and his regime’s lack of transparency over the scandal.

First out of the gate on this topic was a series of spicy barbs thrown by ABC’s Mary Bruce who asked Jean-Pierre: “You have said though from this podium many, many times over the last two weeks that this President takes the handling of classified material very seriously, and yet we continue to learn about more documents being found and discovered at his home.”

Due to those facts, Bruce asked: “Why should the American people believe that this President takes classified material seriously and the handling of it?”

Of course, Jean-Pierre, like all the prior times she’s been asked, had no real answer. “The American people heard from the President directly on this when he was asked by your colleagues at least twice now about how he sees this process,” she mumbled.

“I think as it relates to the American people and the President standing with the American people, it is going to be up to them to decide how they see this President,” she added.

Unphased by Jean-Pierre’s incoherent answers, Bruce followed up: “I want to ask one more time, you have been the one messaging that he takes this seriously. You have also been saying over and over again, you are cooperating fully with this investigation.”

“That hasn’t changed, Mary,” Jean-Pierre interjected.

Bruce then asked, “why did it take several searches and the FBI coming in to uncover the full extent of the documents?”

Jean-Pierre returned to the same tired line she gives each and every time she’s asked about the documents: “the President has said many times he takes this very seriously.”

One moment in the briefing that raised eyebrows was when Jean-Pierre claimed Biden “was surprised that the documents were there” at his home.

Bruce caught that apparent slip-up and spoke truth to power by asking the rhetorical question: “You understand how the American people might question that? Given that you keep–every few days it seems we are finding more documents have been found at his house.”

Later on, it was CBS’s Nancy Cordes’ turn to skewer Jean-Pierre and noted that despite Biden claiming “he takes classified material and the handling of it very seriously. This weekend top Senate Democrats who have known him for decades described this situation as unacceptable and completely irresponsible.” Asking: “What’s the disconnect here?”

Then it was Peter Doocy’s turn to take a swing at Jean-Pierre. First Doocy cut the tension out of the room with a humorous question: “When you found out that the FBI had located even more classified materials in Wilmington, which four-letter word did you use?”

That got a giggle out of her and a “Oh my goodness, Peter!”

After the laughter died down, Doocy asked if Biden “is still intending to run for President in 2024.”

“I’ll just repeat what the President said after the midterm election which is he intends to run,” Jean-Pierre responded.

(FreedomWire.org) – Nikki Haley recently appeared on Fox News and teased what seems to be an inevitable run for president in 2024. That would pit the former South Carolina governor against Donald Trump, for whom she served as UN Ambassador from 2017-2018.

While teasing a possible presidential run, Haley took a gentle jab at Donald Trump, with whom Haley has had a historically supportive relationship.

“Look, it is time for a new generation. It is time for more leadership,” Haley told Fox News’s Sean Hannity on Friday. “It is time for the fact that we really start to take our country back.”

“We cannot have another term of Joe Biden,” she continued. “And we have to remember, too – we have lost the last seven out of eight popular votes for president. It is time that we get a Republican in there that can lead and that can win a general election.”

Hannity pressed the former South Carolina governor on “policy differences” she has with Trump’s “Make America Great Again, America First agenda.”

Haley refused to take the bait, replying, “Well, I had a great working relationship with him. I consider him a friend.”

“You know, most of the policies that he did, I totally agree with,” she added. “There’s going to be other Republicans in the race, most of them are my friends.”

“Let the best woman win,” she quipped.

Haley declined to announce her candidacy in front of Hannity’s studio audience, but she discussed the possibility of running in an exclusive interview with Fox News’s Bret Baier.

“Well I’m not going to make an announcement here, but when you’re looking at a run for president, you look at two things,” Haley told Baier. “You first look at, does the current situation push for new leadership. The second question is, am I that person that could be that new leader, that, yes, we need to go in a new direction. And can I be that leader? Yes, I think I can be that leader.”

With Baier, Haley appeared more determined.

“I was as governor, I took on a hurting state with double-digit unemployment and made it the beast of the southeast,” she said of her experience.

“As ambassador, I took on the world when they tried to disrespect us. And I think I showed what I’m capable of at the United Nations,” she said. “So, do I think I could be that leader? Yes.”

(FreedomWire.org) – According to MSN, Biden forced the DNC to alter the 2024 primary calendar to begin with states that heavily favored him in the 2020 primaries. If you don’t remember, Biden got trounced in the historical “first state”, Iowa to the likes of Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg.

However, Biden’s rise to the top of the ticket began when he scored some key victories in South Carolina and other surrounding states. And ironically enough, that is exactly where the 2024 primaries will start for Biden.

President Biden had made it abundantly clear that he intends to run for reelection in 2024. Any doubt about that was removed when he surprised members of the Democratic National Committee with a proposal that dramatically reshapes the early primary season calendar and bends it in his favor. Absent a declaration of candidacy, it was the latest signal of a politically engaged president.

The DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee had been deliberating for many months about a new order for the early states, one that already was destined to eliminate Iowa from the list of early contests, but committee members were reluctant to move ahead without input from the leader of the party. When Biden weighed in, he did so with a proposal that calls for more change than anyone outside the White House had been considering.

When it comes to primaries, “momentum” is a powerful force. If a candidate begins picking up steam, it’s often hard to stop them. With this new calendar shakeup, this allows Biden to try to capture the momentum early.

The old order for the starting weeks of the nominating process went like this: Iowa’s caucuses, followed by New Hampshire’s primary, followed by Nevada’s caucuses, followed by South Carolina’s primary. The new order, adopted on Friday, calls for the first month of the nomination process to go like this: South Carolina, followed three days later by both New Hampshire and Nevada, which would share the second spot on the calendar, followed by Georgia, followed by Michigan. All five contests would be conducted as primaries, and the proposal is contingent on the states meeting the DNC’s requirements.

I guess the old adage of “If you can’t beat em, cheat!” never died for Democrats, even when it’s against their political allies.

(FreedomWire.org) – Last week, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland surprised the nation by announcing that he had appointed a special counsel to oversee two DOJ-led criminal investigations concerning former President Donald Trump, including the Mar-a-Lago classified documents debacle and the Jan. 6 Capitol incursion.

“Based on recent developments, including the former president’s announcement that he is a candidate for president in the next election, and the sitting president’s stated intention to be a candidate as well, I have concluded that it is in the public interest to appoint a special counsel,” Garland said in a statement, naming Jack Smith as the special counsel who will oversee the investigations.

While Smith is generally known as an experienced, neutral prosecutor who’s worked several high-profile cases against Democrats and Republicans, the same might not be true for his wife, a filmmaker who seemingly has clear partisan ties.

According to the New York Post, Smith’s wife, Katy Chevigny, has “producer” credits for a 2020 Netflix documentary titled “Becoming.” The subject of the documentary is former first lady Michelle Obama.

Further complicating matters, especially in the court of public opinion, is the revelation that Chevigny donated $2,000 to President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign that same year.

News of Chevigny’s political donation to the Biden campaign and her work on the Michelle Obama film stirred intense debate on social media as to whether it creates a conflict of interest for her husband in his investigation into Trump, as Trump stands a strong chance at becoming Biden’s political opponent in 2024.

Georgia Republican Rep. Andrew Clyde slammed the Justice Department on Monday.

“You just can’t make this stuff up. Katy Chevigny, wife of Jack Smith—the special counsel appointed by DOJ to go after President Trump, donated to Joe Biden’s campaign and produced Michelle Obama’s documentary. America cannot stand with a corrupt, two-tiered justice system,” Clyde tweeted.

Others echoed the same sentiment, including Turning Point USA founder and president Charlie Kirk.

“Of course the wife of Jack Smith, the special counsel appointed by Merrick Garland to investigate President Trump, was one of the producers of the Michelle Obama documentary. But don’t worry guys, the DOJ has not been weaponized against conservatives. Everything is fine!” Kirk tweeted Monday.

According to The Washington Post, Smith will begin his investigation remotely from the Netherlands after recovering from a recent bicycle accident.

CNN reported Monday that Smith’s investigation has officially launched after he took his oath of office, presumably remotely, to make it official. Both AG Garland and Smith have insisted that the special counsel addition to the investigations will not slow them down.

So far, there isn’t any evidence to suggest that Smith will recuse himself due to his wife’s political leanings.

(FreedomWire.org) – Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in a video posted to social media accused “right-wing extremists” of having “a plan to literally steal the next presidential election.”

The video was posted by an organization called Indivisible which claims on its website to be “a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with a mission to elect progressive leaders, rebuild our democracy, and defeat the Trump agenda.”

In the video posted to Twitter on Friday, the former secretary of state began, “Hello, Indivisibles. I’m here to highlight something that is keeping me up at night, and I know this group really understands what I’m about to say. I know we’re all focused on the 2022 midterm elections and they are incredibly important, but we also have to look ahead, because you know what? Our opponents certainly are.”

Clinton continued, “Right-wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election and they’re not making a secret of it.”

“The right-wing controlled Supreme Court may be poised to rule on giving state legislatures, yes, you heard me that correctly, state legislatures, the power to overturn presidential elections,” she added.

“Just think if that happens, the 2024 presidential election could be decided not by the popular vote, or even by the anachronistic Electoral College, but by state legislatures, many of them Republican-controlled.”

“But there’s also good news in the face of this very real threat to democracy,” Clinton continued. “Indivisible has launched, ‘Crushed the Coup’ to make sure we’re ready to defend democracy in 2024. They’ve put together a list of critical races in six key states and how you can get involved.”

Clinton then pitched, “Will you support ‘Crush the Coup’ by donating to Indivisible and state legislature candidates? Each of these races is highly competitive and your dollars could very well decide the winners, and the winner of the next presidential election, this could not be more important or more urgent.”

The failed presidential candidate has repeatedly questioned the results of the 2016 election.

In 2020 in the lead-up to the presidential election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, Clinton said during an interview for The Atlantic’s politics podcast, The Ticket, “There was a widespread understanding that this election [in 2016] was not on the level. We still don’t know what really happened.”

In 2021, Clinton said that Russian President Vladimir Putin helped to rig the 2016 election against her in an interview on MSNBC. “Putin is the great disrupter. He has a clear mission to undermine democracies, first and foremost, the United States.”

Almost immediately after the statement, Clinton also claimed that anyone who disputed the results of the 2020 election was working for the Kremlin, either directly or indirectly. Many of her fellow Democrats joined her.
