(FreedomWire.org) – Former President Barack Obama had some speaking engagements in Australia, and while there, he tried to blame former President Donald Trump for the rise of China.
Obama complimented Chinese President Xi Jinping for taking “advantage” of the United States under Donald Trump, blaming his successor for a strain between the two nations.
The former US president kicked off his “Evening with President Obama” tour with 9,000 people packed into the Aware Centre Theatre in Sydney on Tuesday night.
He discussed the rise of China with host Julie Bishop, former deputy Liberal leader and foreign minister.
Obama praised Xi for his “forceful and confident” demeanor in navigating US relations after he left office, taking a swipe at Trump for strained relations.
“I think China feels as if it does not have to operate under the same constraints that it did while I was president,” Obama said.
“Externally, frankly, with my successor coming in, I think Xi (Jinping) saw an opportunity, because the US president didn’t seem to care that much about rules based in the international system.
“And so as a consequence, I think China’s attitude was, well, we can take advantage of what appears to be a vacuum internationally on a lot of these issues.”
Of course, Obama knows darn well the problem was China was abusing the ‘rules-based international system’ we let them in.
And were too greedy to kick them out. Trump changed the game by calling our leaders, not by blaming China but by blaming our past leaders.
Trump won because he told the truth to the American public, that helping China become our only real threat for cheap televisions was a foreign policy mistake that will go down in the history books.
“They took advantage of us for many, many years,” Trump said in 2019.
“And I blame us, I don’t blame them.
“I don’t blame President Xi. I blame all of our presidents, and not just President Obama.
“You go back a long way.
“You look at President Clinton, Bush — everybody.
“They allowed this to happen, they created a monster.
“We rebuilt China because they get so much money,” he said.
