Failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney has just betrayed conservatives everywhere. At a time when President Donald Trump has the country headed in the right direction with a strong economy, jobs galore, and a return to our founding principles, Romney just made an admission that proves he was never a team player — and shows that he is perfectly willing to let the country go up in flames just because he hates our President.
On Wednesday, Romney told CNN that he, like many in America, has already voted. Though Romney has been critical of the President, many expected him to do the right thing and vote to keep Joe Biden and his cadre of socialists out of the White House. Unfortunately, Romney doesn’t want that. He just wants to defeat President Trump. “I did not vote for President Trump,” Romney says.
Asked who did get his vote, Romney played coy. Was it Joe Biden? Did he toss Jill Stein a protest vote? Who knows? Romney told Raju, “”That’s something I’m keeping private at this stage.” Romney, the only Republican who voted for Trump’s impeachment, joins more than 350 Bush-era Republicans in voting for Joe Biden or other in place of the President. Romney specifically hates Donald Trump’s “America First” agenda.
This is an odd stab in the back from Romney, who eagerly accepted President Trump’s endorsement in the 2018 Senate race — one that was given despite the fact that Donald Trump doesn’t much like him either.
“Thank you Mr. President for the support,” Romney said at the time. “I hope that over the course of the campaign I also earn the support and endorsement of the people of Utah.”
President Trump has shown repeatedly — including via his endorsement of a man with whom he frequently butts heads — that he has one goal: to unite the country and the party. Romney is a turncoat, only out for himself. It’s important that voters remember that.
